EA CEO, John Riccitiello has announced yesterday that many highly anticipated titles should be released in EA’s fiscal year 2011, which if from April 1, 2010 to March 30, 2011, don’t worry, you probably won’t have to wait a little more than a year for most of the games he brought up, most of the following games will probably release in Fall/Winter of this year, or even earlier (some release dates of these games may fall into the release date pattern of past games in the series).
He mentioned that in between April 1, 2010 to March 30, 2011 you should expect to see games on store shelves like the upcoming Medal of Honor, a “revitalized” Need for Speed (the one supposedly being made by Criterion Games), The Sims on Console, “an innovative and new take” on Madden, Crysis 2 (now coming on PC, PS3, 360), Dead Space 2, the next FIFA, a new MMA game, and “many others”. Get your wallets ready!

This month Issue of Playstation the Official Magazine has some great pics and info for the much anticipated GT5. Some of the features revealed are as follows.
The website TorrentFreak has calculated that this years most torrented game this year, in just a month and a half, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been pirated in the PC over 4.1 million times and about one million times on the Xbox 360, a little bit over 5 million copies in total in less than two months made this most pirated game of the year! This means that Activision lost about $245 million in sales just for the PC, arghhh, those pirates!
The Sims 3 came in second place as most pirated games in 2009 with 3,200,000 copies. Prototype in third with 2,350,000 torrented copies on PC. Need for Speed SHIFT in fourth with 2,100,000 copies torrented on PC, Street fighter IV came out in fifth with 1,850, 000 torrented copies. The Wii even had quite a few games torrented but New Super Mario Brothers Wii stood out with 1,150,000 pirated copies.
Don’t torrent kids!

I found a great article that illustrates how much the media has construed the actual “known” figures for consoles sold in the recent months. I along with many others were shocked to see how the PS3 lost int he NPD numbers for the month of November. This was all the talk on many gaming blogs and sites, supposedly the Xbox 360 was crushing the PS3 in sales. Well what most people forgot, or were failed to of been shown were the overall figures of worldwide sales where the PS3 is actual outselling the 360 by over half a million consoles.
This week, Europeans get a ton of stuff. Braid is now available as a downloadable game, Army of Two: The 40th Day and Gran Turismo 5 demos are up for download, most past PSP minis are now compatible with the PS3, the Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker demo is now available for PSP, and be sure to check out the special offers section for some good deals and price reductions. As always, the list of full content can be found after the break.
Last month was when the crazy shopping started like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, game sales skyrocketed. Nintendo had a very successful month last month with 1.7 million consoles sold and the DS was in second place with over 1.2 million sold, those are some numbers! The Xbox 360 was behind Nintendo with over 800,000 systems sold and the PS3 right after with over 700,000 systems sold. Even the PS2 sold a good amount of systems even though, well, no new games are really being made for it anymore. Find the sales for hardware and software after the break.
This week North America gets the Need for Speed SHIFT: Team Racing pack for free where you and some friends can race as a team, be sure to pick it up if you’re a fan of the game, remember that you had to pre-order from GameStop to get those gigawatt blades for inFAMOUS? Now they’re available as free downloadable content. PixelJunk Shooter is now available and there’s a bunch of High Velocity DLC to check out, the full list of content can be found after the break.
