FF XIII Could Help Sell 500,000 PS3′s In Japan
Hirokazu Hamamura, president of Enterbrain is stating that Final Fantasy XIII will sell half-million PS3′s during it’s launch period in Japan on December 17th. The PS3 has just had a price drop and sold 150,000 consoles in the first week with a lower price tag. Japan (heck, everyone) has been waiting years for this highly anticipated game to release and that’s why it’s not outrageous that Hamamura says to expect this amount of sales for Sony’s gaming system, especially when Final Fantasy will be bundled with the PS3 on release.
PS3 Gets 4 New Platinum Game Titles in Europe
Sony has officially announced that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, and MotorStorm: Pacific Rift have met the required 400,000 units sold in Europe and that means they are now members of the PlayStation 3′s platinum game line-up. All four of these games will now be at the reasonable price of £19.99 GBP. There is no official release for these four games but expect them to be on your store shelves very soon.

Be the Next PlayStation Video Game Tester
Who doesn’t want to get payed to play video games? Sony will launch somewhat of a reality show that airs on PSN called ‘The Tester’ (it looks like the ‘What’s New’ section may actually have a use) If you are serious about doing this for a living then go complete an official online casting submission and who knows, with an ounce of luck you could be the next worker at PlayStation’s Quality Assurance department in San Diego, CA after competing with other fellow gamers in this upcoming reality series.

Today Europe gets the NHL 10 and F.E.A.R 2: Reborn Demo. That Batman Arkham Asylum ‘Play as Joker’ free DLC has also made it’s way to the store, so be sure to pick those things up. There are much more things along with that arriving this week and they can be seen after the break.

Super_Secret (the real one this time) has some new things to share, about cross-game chat and many other things, some questions that have been needed to be answered. Who is Super_Secret you ask? he claims he works for Sony and has been on forums talking about future updates for the PlayStation 3 and has become very trusted, he has in fact been quite accurate with his statements much earlier before officially announced. He has come out with a statement regarding cross game chat and you may not like it all that much. His statement is after the break.
This Weeks Upcoming Releases (August 24th – 28th)
Da na na na na na na na na na Batman! Batman! Obviously one of the biggest games releasing this week is Batman Arkham Asylum which is coming to the PS3 and the Xbox 360. Also, the Fallout 3 add-on DVD for Broken Steel and Point Lookout is releasing for those Xbox 360 users without Xbox Live access. The list of full games can be found after the break.
