Hideo Kojima Confirms Metal Gear Solid 5

Hideo Kojima Confirms Metal Gear Solid 5

It seems that Hideo Kojima has confirmed Metal Gear Solid 5 which will run on the Kojima Productions new FOX engine.  Kojima stated to IG Magazine

“About Metal Gear Solid 5, I can tell you two things. There will be much question of infiltration, espionage, and convincing people to give you ‘a favor’ like in the last Metal Gear Solid”  Kojima continued ”We have not yet finished with Solid Snake, despite the fact that I wanted to let him die at the end of Guns of the Patriots.”

Nothing else has been confirmed.  Considering it’s this late in the console cycle it’s probably safe to assume that the next MGS will be coming to the PS4 and possibly the Xbox “720″.

The Worst (But Best!) Moments of E3

The Worst (But Best!) Moments of E3

So E3 2012 is not too far away now, I can just count the hours and I thought it would be a very nice time to reflect on some of those really bad moments in press conferences, times that made everyone cringe in our site’s E3 live chat every year at these conferences but great times we really will never forget. These are times that are truly so bad (yet really oh so good) it will make you happy to say “I watched that live!” One thing is for sure, you will laugh and laugh and laugh watching all these memorable moments! Video’s are after the break!

Party App on PS VITA More Powerful Than You May Have Thought

Party App on PS VITA More Powerful Than You May Have Thought

So the staff that work here wanted to play some serious matches of Resistance: Burning Skies on Vita and were sad to see that in-game there was actually no party options at all, with matchmaking being your only route, until Damian from our staff actually looked at the game manual and saw that the Vita’s party app is actually pretty awesome!

The name of the app, “Party,” is actually a description of something powerful that it can do! It just hasn’t been advertised so much on Resistance or on the Vita itself that this option is available. As many know, cross-game voice and text chat is what you do in this app, but did you know you could also form up parties and dive into select games? So yes, you actually CAN play Resistance: Burning Skies with buddies!

The devs of Resistance probably should have hinted around more in the main menu’s that this option was available because they honestly can’t count on us lazy gamers to look in the game manuals! …. Right?

Black Ops 2 Reveal Trailer Is Up, Setting in 2025!

If it’s anything that may make me retract my statement of the Call of Duty franchise starting to die because of no new ideas, it’s this very trailer. Treyarch is doing it again, and they are seriously bringing this franchise into the future, 2025 to be specific. If done right, this can be a very great game, however if not right, this game could flop, but it’s Treyarch, I see some good things coming out of this.

What you see is what you get, a very interesting looking single-player along with what could be a very different and innovative multiplayer experience, It appears the Call of Duty franchise is innovating, and now I think I’m all for the success of this one, because this certainly doesn’t look like a copy and paste job.

So, what do you all think? Good move by Treyarch? Bad move? Drop a comment below.

PlayStation 4 “Orbis” Rumors Surface

PlayStation 4 “Orbis” Rumors Surface

We’re nearing the end of the console cycle, and what would be a successful end without a huge set of rumors about the next console? Kotaku is now claiming a “reliable source” that “has shared correct information with them before” is giving them the tip about Sony’s upcoming console – the PlayStation 4, codenamed “Orbis,” which is supposed to release around Christmas time of next year.

The name “Orbis” means circle, or orbit in Latin, kinda like the Vita means “life” in Latin. (Kotaku said Orbis Vita in Latin means “circle of life” – coincidence? Who knows). Like the Vita though, Orbis could be the final name of the PlayStation 4, but something tells me that’s not gonna happen. However the SCE dev site responds when “Orbis” is put into the URL and does not respond when “PS4″ is put into the URL, so that’s pretty interesting, I remember something similar happening with the Vita if I’m not mistaken.

Heaps of Assassin’s Creed III Info Hits the Web

Heaps of Assassin’s Creed III Info Hits the Web

The Internet has recently released a heap of information about the upcoming American Revolution based game,  Assassin’s Creed III. In this game we will be following our main character, a half English – half Indian assassin named Connor who will be in perhaps the most interesting environment in an Assassin’s Creed game yet, consisting of smaller towns this time and wide open fields of war, using the trees as a form of transportation now.

When we heard that Assassin’s Creed II would be in the Renaissance, gamers thought nothing special of it – until playing in the time itself, that’s when we were wowed. Ubisoft promises this same experience with Assassin’s Creed III, with Americans learning much more than they thought they knew about the time period and other nations possibly taking in interest in it. You’ll have many things going on in the game like seeing George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Charles Lee and the Marquis de Lafayette and hearing famous speeches, along with going to historical cities and areas.

There will be weather like snow, rain, and fog. There’s also hunting now, which will make you be able to reap rewards and possibly make clothing, among other things. The leap of faith mechanic is also going to be far more dynamic this time around, letting you jump from cliffs to snow piles on the ground, along with jumping onto moving carriages or carts below.
