This Summer, our two PlayStation trucks, The PlayStation Experience & The PlayStation Patrol are back out on the road, traveling around the country to popular events and concerts to showcase the hottest PlayStation products, and, thanks to some really exciting changes, they are better than ever.
We’ve transformed the PlayStation Experience truck into a social and community-focused environment for gamers with the addition of several highly-interactive and hands-on gaming areas.
We are showing a pre-release version of LittleBigPlanet to consumers in a specially themed area. LittleBigPlanet is certain to be one of the biggest games to hit PS3 this year and we are offering an incredibly rare opportunity chance to play the game months before it even releases!
Microsoft Is Prepared for 2008
Shane Kim and Phil Spencer of Microsoft are excited about this year’s line-up for the Xbox360 with Gears of War 2 and Fable 2 in the pipeline.
Though they admit “it’s easy to look back and go ‘you can’t possibly be as strong’,” referring to last year’s star studded guest list of COD4, Mass Effect and Halo 3.
Spencer and his crew will have to execute in the face of stiff competition. As momentum for the rival PlayStation 3 builds, 2008 is yet another year that the Xbox 360 must be ready for Sony exclusives such as LittleBigPlanet, Gran Turismo 5, Resistance 2 and the recently-released Metal Gear Solid 4. (Not to mention the Wii, whose successful strategy has shot off in a decidedly different direction.)
Unsurprisingly, Spencer is backing Microsoft in the software battle this year, particularly during the ever-important holidays.
“I feel very good about our lineup,” he says. “I think if you look at the inception of the 360 and our contributions at Microsoft Game Studios, this holiday looks to be in my mind another great holiday for us.
“…The lineup that we have both this holiday, and looking into the early concepts and prototypes to come, I think it lines up against any competitive lineup that I see out there.”

Is the Xbox360 Dead? Or does it have more in the tank?

We are six months in to the year 2008 and we haven’t seen any big titles this year for the Xbox 360.
This year the Xbox360 only has 3 big titles and that’s Ninja Gaiden 2 that’s out right now, Fable II, & Gears of War 2 which will be coming this fall 2008. Those are the three top games for the Xbox360 for the year of 2008 and to be truthful that is a very unimpressive line-up compared to there rival Playstation 3 which has seen the likes of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, and what many are calling the Game of the Year; Metal Gear Solid 4, those two titles alone are huge Playstation Brand titles that we have already seen within the first 6 months of 2008 and with more big titles to come this fall it only gets better.
So what does this mean for the Xbox360? Do they have big titles coming? We will see at this years E3 2008 July 15-17.
