PS4 – Images & Details of the New Dualshock 4 Controller
So the PlayStation 4 console itself was not shown today, but what was shown was the new DUALSHOCK 4 controller, it resembles those rough test models of the controllers that were leaked a few days ago, but this seems to be the final design (it could always slightly change in the next few months).
The design is very modern looking, it’s actually very nice – new features are a “light bar” on the back of the controller that appears to be move or motion related, a touch pad on the front, a headphone jack, a mic, a “share” button, an “options” button (which is replacing Start and Select), among other things.
Images of the controller are posted after the break, Sony has released some beautiful high resolution photos of the controller (click the images to make them bigger! We have also thrown in some screens from the conference with more angles of the controller too, but those are much lower resolution than the Sony photos, enjoy! Click “read more” to see the images:

R.I.P. Original ‘Rock Band’ Mobile App. Thanks For The Good Times.
The very popular mobile version of the venerable console hit title of the same moniker, Rock Band, is shutting down at the end of May. EA Mobile recently sent an alert stating their impending drop of support for the game.
“Dear Rockers,
On may 31, Rock Band will no longer be playable on your device. Thanks for rocking out with us!”
Now don’t fret Rock Band fans, EA Mobile seems to be simply shifting its focus onto Rock Band Reloaded. So you can still get your ‘on the go’ Rock Band fetish. Its just that you’ll have to buy a new app, spending at least $4.99 or $9.99 for the HD version, to continue rocking on. Oh, and all those in-game “Music Store” songs you bought to extend the original Rock Band app are dead in the water. Meaning that they will not work with Reloaded. Yeah, we know that sucks.
Will this act may make folks feel hesitant to buy the 2nd generation Rock Band app or invest heavily in add-on content? Only time will tell. But you gotta admit, its a fun game and the original was worth every penny for the joy it brought to the masses on a mobile platform. Lets hope its successor continues that legacy.
So rest in peace original Rock Band. Thanks for the good times.

LG Unveils ‘Ultra Definition’ TV
A resolution of 3480 x 2160? Awesome, yes, but good luck finding content to play on this 84-inch behemoth.
If you’ve been following CES you’ve been hearing ’4K’ thrown around a ton – and you’ll hear it here once again. 4x the amount of pixels that your current gen 1080p joints put out, but that’s not the biggest nor baddest. Super Hi-Vision (which will broadcast the 2012 Olympics in select cities in the US, UK & Japan) pushes pixels like crazy with an unreal resolution of 7,680 x 4,320.
Hit the jump for a handy chart showing the difference between 1080p and 4k.
Vita Sells Over 320K Units at Japan Launch
The PS Vita, Sony’s newest handheld console, is now on sale for those lucky people in Japan, North America/Europe still have to wait until February to get it. Here’s the numbers for the first day that the Vita was on the market in Japan, the handheld sold 321,407 units according to Enterbrain.
These numbers are much better than the original PSP’s launch numbers in Japan, but not as good as the 3DS numbers. Sony has shipped about 700,000 Vita’s to Japan and the website predicts with the current numbers that the Vita will sell 1.4 million units by the end of the week.
The most purchased games for the handheld in Japan were Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Everybody’s Golf. So far, so good for the PS Vita, here’s hopes that this handheld will have a much better run than the PSP did!
