Red Dead Redemption banned in UAE?

Red Dead Redemption banned in UAE?

Red Dead Redemption appears to be banned in the UAE. Or is it? We haven’t heard any official word from Rockstar or the UAE government about the ban taking place, but the buzz on the street is that yes, it has been banned from distribution in the region.

UAE retailer Dubai Mall has reportedly told customers that the game has in fact been banned in the country — which should come as a bit of a surprise considering that we have not really seen anything ultraviolent in its screens and trailers. Unless of course they have a thing against cowboys and whipping horses into full throttle.

Meanwhile, local UAE distributor Red Entertainment can only mumble a very useful PR reply of “no comment”.

Red Dead Redemption is set to gallop out to Europe and PAL retail stores on May 21st, 2010.

MW2 Resurgence Pack Details & PICTURES!

MW2 Resurgence Pack Details & PICTURES!

In an interview with Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling gave details regarding Modern Warfare 2‘s upcoming Resurgence map pack

Bowling confirmed that of the pack’s five maps, two maps will be from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare: Vacant and Strike. The other three — Trailer Park, Carnival, and Fuel — will be all new.

Trailer Park is a small, tight map (“super condensed”, as Bowling described it) and will be full of maze-like routes found between abandoned trailers. Carnival, meanwhile is, set in an old amusement park. Expect to see a lot of unused rides like rollercoasters and such in this one.

The third map, Fuel, is the most open and sniper-friendliest of the three. This is “sniper heaven”, said Bowling, with its old refinery setting likely providing a lot of possible perches for eagle-eyed sharpshooters.

The Resurgence map pack doesn’t have a price tag yet, but expect it to be around the same price as the Stimulus pack. It will launch on June 3rd on the Xbox Live Marketplace. PC and PS3 gamers will get it at a later date.

Possible new iPhone leak causes stir ((Video))Check It

If This Video Gets Pulled I Will Upload It ….

Either this is the most authentic-looking fourth-generation iPhone fake I’ve ever seen, or Apple has somehow managed to let yet another new iPhone slip through its fingers.

Vietnamese tech forum Taoviet just posted pictures and video (which I learned of via Engadget) of what looks to be a slightly more refined version of the next-gen iPhone that Gizmodo revealed to the world last month.

EA Sports to charge used game customers $10 for online capabilities

EA Sports to charge used game customers $10 for online capabilities

In  these tough economic times where it’s becoming harder to pay for what people want, we understand that used games might be the way for some people to enjoy gaming. Apparently, Electronic Arts doesn’t understand – they plan to charge you $10 if you want online capabilities to be unlocked on your used game.

Yes, you heard right. The way it works is that your EA Sports game is shipped with a redeemable code. That code contains the unlock for online play and a few bonus things they threw in there. It’s not like entering long codes isn’t annoying enough, but for online play? Come on EA! If you’re one of the people that bought the used game you’re given a 7 day grace period to try out the game online with the bonus content but then you’ll have to pony up for it.
