Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Releases Today & Trailer

7 September, 2010 PS3, PSP, Trailers 1 comment

There are several big releases for the PSP this year, including Medal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, which released a few months ago, God of War: Ghosts of Sparta which is releasing on November 2nd this year, and of course Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep which releases today (Friday in the EU). This is just sort of a reminder that the PSP actually has some pretty good games this year and here’s one that some may be interested into getting and dusting off their PSP’s. So enjoy this new seven minute long trailer if you’re interested and remember there’s a new area in the sidebar of the website that gives you a short and sweet list of the weeks new biggest releases.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Release Date Revealed

For those who didn’t know, the next Kingdom Hearts game will be on the PSP, it is titled Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep and will take place at the beginning of the Kingdom Hearts series, certainly something I’m looking forward to on my PSP. A release date for both Europe and North America has been announced today. The game will be available in North AMerica on September 7th and in Europe on September 10th. North America will also be getting an entertainment pack upon release featuring a silver PSP, with 4GB memory stick, a movie, and a copy of the game.

Kingdom Hearts and Dissidia playable at Square Enix party

Finally! It seems like we’re inching ever closer to the releases of Dissidia and Kingdom Hearts on PSP. Dissidia has been playable before, so we’re excited to hear that Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep is in a state where it can be played as well. Unlike the other Kingdom Hearts spin-off titles, Birth by Sleep looks to most closely resemble the PS2 games — not just graphically, but in terms of gameplay as well. For many, that’s exactly what they’re looking for.

Invitations to this closed party are incredibly limited, so we’re hoping that someone will be fortunate enough to attend the show and report on how both of these games play.

NPD Numbers For September Starts Monthly Changes

So in the middle of every month, NPD usually announces the sales of the consoles and top selling games for platforms for the month prior. Now, though, NPD has announced that they will only supply us with the positions from the top selling games from all consoles combined instead of just one game from a single console, and even worse, they will not be showing hardware sales now!  NPD said if Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo wants to share their hardware data then the NPD would show their data on the charts, for example, Microsoft allowed their sales the be shown for September with 483,989 Xbox 360′s sold. You can see the changes below, as you can see no hardware sales and combined software sales with no sales numbers now. It was reported that this same thing happened a few years ago until changed back to what it was so we will see what happens from now with this new format.
