The time has come, the release date is now official for the PlayStation 4, at the end of Sony’s Gamescom 2013 conference, they announced that the PlayStation 4 will release will be on November 15th in the United States and November 29th in Europe.

That’s November of this year! Good stuff, Europe however has to wait a little bit longer for the PS4 which is a bit disappointing, but at least it’s not months later or into early next year as some people feared!

Andrew House said that over 1 million reservation have been made for the PlayStation 4 already and also restated the pricing of the console, $399 in the U.S., €399 in Europe and £349 in the U.K.

Microsoft has yet to announce a release date for the Xbox One but promises a Novemeber release date, Microsoft has the potential to release their next-gen console up to two weeks before PS4, will they take advantage of that? We shall see!

Can someone explain to me the advantage of releasing a console a few weeks or 1 month earlier? I don’t understand how this is any better. The initial allotment is going to be sold out. So anyone who didn’t pre-order won’t get that initial allotment anyways. So if MS decides to release a few weeks earlier or later how does it benefit either company? The people who didn’t pre-order before August are going to have to wait for the 2nd batch anyways. So again how is releasing a few weeks earlier beneficial?

well some one who preordered both x1 and ps4 if they got one before the other he might cancel the other for another time and maybe never get it.
