Let’s all Hangout

So I wanted to get to together with a few of the guys here on the DLB-Network last night to talk about some future plans in gaming. We needed a way to connect and it was said that Google Hangouts would be the way to go. So after sending out a few invites we where in the same room chatting it up. Not long after the conversation got stared we instantly come to the same idea that this would have been awesome if we could have done it on our PS3 or Xbox. Now before things get misunderstood I know we could have all jumped into a Xbox party and talked about anything we needed to. But having all the sharing options that Google Hangouts offers is key to what we planned on doing. And that’s what we ended up discussing. Not to mention using the Xbox video Kinect app only allows for two people  at a time. I have also noticed that the voice quality edge that Skype has had in the past is really not an issue anymore. Google now offers a great quality voice and video experience. But hey, I know that there will be some great improvements specifically in this area on the next generation of consoles.

 Just a thought

I really hope the PS4 supports a better video chat room than what the PS3 has now. Support for 16 people with awesome features would be sweet. Like leaving the video chat room to jump right in a game but still being connected to the chat room via voice. The social aspect of gaming will be very important next gen even more so than this one.

I do to! Or at least have some great third party apps.

It would be slick if the PS4 was based off Android Software so we could use Google Apps like Hangout. They definitely wont happen. But like Game-Critic said, social integration will definitely be a big aspect next gen. Sony did a decent job in that category with the Vita.

The Vita showed great improvement but really needs a price cut. And way more third party support.
