In the business section The Times newspaper today, Sony CEO Kaz Hirai touched a little on Sony’s next generation console, in regards to announcing the actual console, Kaz stated, ”Why go first, when your competitors can look at your specifications and come up with something better?” Basically meaning that he wants to see Microsoft announce their console first and go from there.
What’s also interesting about this is that this means that Kaz has actually mentioned that they basically are soon ready to actually announce something, it’s official now, no cloudy statements about not commenting on the next generation. That being said, it’s no secret that the next consoles should be announced soon either, the buzz and speculation is flying all over the Internet now.
A lot of you voted in the poll located in the sidebar of the site on when you think these consoles will be announced, does this alter your opinion now? Many have speculated a PS4/Orbis announcement before E3, but this news seems to tell that E3 may be a more believable date for Sony’s announcement.
Question, what will Microsoft’s reply be to this? Hopefully not something like, “Nah Sony, we really think you should go first!”
