I do have to say i have a lot of respect for Reggie. he’s been with Nintendo for years and I think I’m going to buy a Wii U guys because I want a HD Zelda and I want to go back and play all those awesome wii games I missed like Donkey Kong and Metroid other M. The Wii U is the console that should have launched along side the PS3 and 360 and I think if it did the 360 and PS3 would have been in even more trouble.

Lol you are lame as a game-critic, but if PS4 and XBOX 720 had launch same time as Nintendo wii, the wii would had been in trouble Yeah that just happened.

If the Wii U had launched in place of the Wii it would have catered to both the casual and the hardcore making it the obvious 1st option or second system you definitely needed to get. I think the PS3 would have still been doing as great because SONY exclusives are top notch and you’re going to want a PS3 specifically to just play their games.
Now the 360 on the other hand not so. They don’t really have all that great of a line up exclusive wise. Eventually the hardcore of the hardcore would own all 3 systems but if the Wii could do what the Wii U can do now 5 years ago then M$ or SONY would have been in trouble I’m telling you. The only reason the Will U is going to see is because the Hardcore wants to play their favorite Nintendo franchises in 1080P HD or simply HD period.
Dude imagine if Nintendo resells Wii sports but in HD and a Zelda or Metriod in 1080P. Now think back if they released along side the 360 and PS3 with notion control gaming. The casual and hardcore would have swarmed this system and either SONY or M$ would be lost. The wii U is for the hardcore for sure its Nintendo’s attempt to regain the hardcore audience revitalize the casuals back into gaming after they got bored of play wii bowling 50 million times.
I’ll put it this way to you. I’ve never sat down and actually played a Wii game from beginning to end. The most ever hand on time I have with the system is at target or bestbuy. I would never have considered buying one ever if they weren’t so dirt cheap now and even now after I bought one two years ago its still in the box never opened. If Nintendo would have released the Wii U 5 years ago and it did all this or promised to upgrade via firmware to this stuff I would have have had a PS3 and a Wii U on the first day it launched or both within the first year. The wii U is the console we all wanted from Nintendo coming from Gamecube last gen not the wii.

your are comparing next gen console (well kind of) to current gen consoles man, thats like me saying if PS4 had launched instead of PS3, then the wii and xbox 350 would had been in trouble.
and yeah im getting a stupid wii YOU too event though its a stupid name for a console, but so was “vita” and i still love it, relax take a chill pill all i was saying is that you cannot compare next gen to last gen consoles.

How am i trying to compare last gen with this gen
. The wii U isn’t even next gen dude its this gen but done slightly different and slightly better hardware. The wii U has 2 GB total memory split into 2 parts 1 GB for OS and 1 for Games. It makes a difference compare to the PS3 and 360 but its not next gen difference by any means. The PS4 and 720 will have at least 4GB that’s for sure. All I’m saying is the wii U is the console I wished Nintendo had launched back in Nov of 2006 instead of the wii.
The wii U is not next gen to me dude. maybe you but not to me. The PS3 and PSP were doing remote play tricks way before the Wii U and its screen controller. Matter of fact you can ever play certain PS3 games on a PSP via remote play like Lair. So the Wii U isn’t all that next gen dude. The wii U is simply the console Nintendo wanted to release back in 2006 but was afraid to because they feared the PS3 would kill them like the PS2 slaughtered the Gamecube. Nintendo was scared shitless and got lucky with the wii. Now they’re playing catch up with the PS3 and 360 and slightly passed them hardware wise.
But just like most devs didn’t go out their way to make PS3 look better that 360 games don’t expect the same here either except from 1st party and thats the only reason I’m getting a Wii U because I want a HD Zelda, HD Metroid,and HD Mario. And when they drop i’ll be playing them in 1080p on my 55″ Sony 3D Bravia eating a turkey ham sandwich with a glass of lemonade fool. thank you and good night I’m out!

I wish i could get Nintendo games on my Xbox. I tried the Wii and liked it but not enough to buy a system just for Mario Bros.

For those arguing about the Wii U being next gen, it IS next gen, just like the wii was. Generations aren’t defined by hardware power, that’s fanboy ignorance. The original Wii was lumped in with the 360 and PS3 on every gaming site you go to, why because generations are generally defined by when all the consoles are on the market because each company (Sony, MS, Nintendo) typically come out with their new console within a year of each other.
