Zipper Interactive Closes Its Doors

Sony has confirmed to IGN that Zipper Interactive will soon be shutting it’s doors for good.  This is the same studio behind smash hits SOCOM, MAG, and more recently Unit 13.  For those of us who remember there was a time when the only game worth playing online on a PlayStation console was SOCOM.  We wish nothing but the best for the team as they move forward with their careers.

“Sony Computer Entertainment can confirm the closure of Zipper Interactive, a Seattle-based internal game development studio that has been part of the global development operation of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS). The closure is a result of a normal cycle of resource re-alignment within SCE WWS. Zipper has complete all work associated with its most recent project, Unit 13 for PlayStation Vita. Zipper titles MAG, SOCOM 4 and Unit 13 will continue to be supported, including the new Daily Challenges in Unit 13.” – Sony Computer Entertainment

I have lived my life as best I could, not knowing its purpose, but drawn forward like a moth to a distant moon. and here, at last, I discover a strange truth. That I am only a conduit for a message that eludes my understanding. Who are we, who have been so blessed to share our stories like this? To speak across centuries? Maybe you will answer all the questions I have asked. Maybe you will be the one to make all this suffering worth something in the end.

Damn so long guys I hope the PSN version of MAG goes on sale now because I rather play only online games from the HDD of my PS3 rather than insert a disc. I see SOCOM 4 is $15 at Target now also guys jump on that. Its worth $15 at least.
