More Info On Playstation Plus
Playstation Plus will be released on the 29th June 2010 with firmware Update 3.40, this update will feature support for playstation Plus as swell as some new features for everyone and one of these features are if someone is a playstation Plus member the will have an icon next to there name showing this off. Any way, this is a good start assuming cross-chatting is included at launch of Playstation Plus. Now, we have to wait and see what the third month from September 2nd – October 1st looks like.

I actually rather have the 3 free months than the Free copy of LBP. ( i Own LBP ) already.
@Christendom Cross game chatting is NOT included in PSN +. I Dont know why because they obviously have the feature ready, because they were advertising it on other blogs. I assume that it will come at a later date.. TGS/Gamescom maybe?

Sony are salpping us in the face right now we need cross game chat/ custom music for all games to make this worth it but i will say i will be getting this.
Come on sony YOU WORK for US! we the fan bye your shit so its down to you to lisen to us and not be all secret when it comes to Xgamechat. They better hope they talk about it at TGS/gamescon or its a wrap for me, Microsoft has won the online battle there just so far ahead.
Sony need better ideas radther than just giving free shit. How about PLaystation plus members get a less laggy servur to.

From what i hear, a psn+ account user is what you need to be in your group to initiate/participate in Cross game chat.
Anyway I honestly thought more game would have thought like KZ2 and let you do custom Soundtracks in mp but then again what am I thinking.

@Joe890: I know KZ2 lets you choose the music for yourself. (I play it a lot with stuff like Edwin Star and Disturbed a lot.) I wished more games had caught on and implemented it into their own Multiplayer sections

So many people are putting so much hype on cross-game chat, if anyone knows how the game industry or business world works they know to try things out first before you put all your effort and money into something. We all know cross chat is coming just have some patience, there is a lot that goes on behind the chat service that everyone wants. for example Servers, equipment, and people to maintain it. So I have a question…Do you want Sony to put out a cross game chat system that is crappy because people are so freaking inpatient?…..No. And anyway this is an optional service that Sony and the PlayStation division is OFFERING you. They are not forcing you to pay for something like Microsoft with Xbox Live that you are getting for free. Think, with Plus you are getting content at a discount, access to things that other regular free accounts can’t get, and features that are coming later as this service matures. People just need to start growing up and learn patience because remember Rome wasn’t built in a day.

I totally agree. I don’t think PSN+ is that bad to be honest. even the three month deal is sounding good seeing as you get ALOT of free shit and discounted games and dlc lol. The ONLY problem i see is that they don’t have really newer better games (for the most part) to offer right now. I’m sure there is gonna be a heck of alot more coming our way. Just be patient and stop worrying about small addittions at the moment and play some damn games lol.

Well you must admit Sony has had a lot on their plate to compete against Microsoft, And we are just now seeing a turning point. Sony probably wanted to concentrate on their system and games. Remember at Sony’s E3 press conferences ever since the release of the PS3 they said that it is a 10 Year system. And like I said it takes a lot to maintain and provide a service like that and the only reason why Xbox Live has it is that they are taking their subscription money and putting it towards different things.

I’ll rationalize it by saying that PS3 owners will never have to pay to play online. I also guarantee that when cross game chat comes, it will also be free to everyone. This PlayStation Plus package is just for a few added services. I repeat PlayStation 3 owners will NEVER have to pay to play their games online. Mark my words.

I seriously doubt that we will ever have to pay to play on the PS3. mabye when the next playstation comes out, yes i can see a strong possibility of paying for online. but from a realistic standpoint, it would be foolish to charge for online at this point.

in all honesty, as a PSN and XBL user, Live isn’t that much better than PSN. Ive actually found that my online experience with PSN is far better than XBL. I have a completely open network at my apartment (NAT: Open) and i NEVER experience lag when i play games on my ps3. however, when i play games on my 360 i lag 3 out 10 games that i play. Sure Live has cross game chat and in game music but its definitely not worth paying $50/year for. As long as i can play my games online and communicate with the people on my team, im good. So ill be staying with the FREE PSN!
also, for everyone bitching about in game music, M$ patented that technology years ago. thats why sony was never able to include it in PSN. The only way around the patent was for game developers to allow for in game music. It was rumored that sony was going to require all game developers to allow for IGM but as you can tell, that didn’t happen. Thats why you only see a handful of games with IGM.
