Final Fantasy XIII Tops 5.5 Million Units Sold Worldwide
Square Enix has released its worldwide sales numbers for their fiscal year which ended on March 31st of this year. Final Fantasy has managed to sell 5.5 million units by the time of March 31st which means by now the game probably sold quite a bit more. Europe and North America together sold around 3.7 million units in just under a month and Japan sold 1.85 million units since the game has been released late last year in that country. Square Enix has also revealed how their other games sold in their fiscal year that has just ended March 31st, that list can be seen below.
- Final Fantasy XIII – 5.55 million units
- Dragon Quest IX – 4.26 million units (Japan only)
- Batman: Arkham Asylum – 3.24 million units
- Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days – 1.49 million units
- Dragon Quest VI – 1.29 million units
- Just Cause 2 – 0.92k units
- Dissidia: Final Fantasy – 0.82k units (Japanese LtD sales – 1.81 million units)
- Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep – 0.76k units

I didn’t realize that Batman: Arkham Asyslum was a Square Enix project. Anyway, it looks like that merger was a good idea.
