Windows 7 Phone Series: Xbox Live Integration

Hey guys, so we don’t have to be a only gaming news blog. I thought i would post some news about some other cool tech. This post coincidentally can be tied into gaming (Xbox Live Integration) but i was just thinking that when there is periods of no news flow, i would post some interesting tech stuff on the blog (Keeping in mind not to stray too far off-topic).

So here we have Microsoft’s brand new phone software, Windows 7 Mobile, along with there first Windows Phone. If you take note, in the video the software UI looks extremely similar to the Zune HD and is very intuitive. The phone also boasts good social network integration from Facebook to Xbox Live. This looks to be microsoft’s first baby steps in bringing Xbox Live mobile, theres nothing mind blowing yet, but at least their own their way.

I’m not going to detail everything the phone does as that’s what the video is for. I Think this is a very sleek phone, is it an “iPhone Killer”? I don’t know, probably not, but it will be available to MANY carriers, including Verizon wireless and AT&T. I’m a Verizon customer, and if there is still no iPhone availible soon, i will be looking into this phone.

    Just to let everyone know there was no podcast recorded this last week. I believe its because of the bandwidth issue talked about in last podcasts. I think the every other week podcast system might be coming into place. If you guys really want an every week podcast I would suggest donating to the site. And i would suggest donating as a whole community, a few people’s donations (although all are GREATLY appreciated) here and there, probably wont get it done.

    Anyways, just wanted to keep you all informed.

    Microsoft are catching up a bit with Apple, hoorah for western software companies…Sony should keep up and start focusing on software, but i love their hardware.

    This website is so lame. If the podcast is supposed to come every other week there should be one this week. I went on iTunes and the last podcast was January 25, three weeks ago. DLB just give it up, if your not gonna give 100% into your own website then don’t even bother. I used to always visit and comment on this website but I rarely do either now.

    @Rocc-Monsta:
    read tge first comment also I hope you do realise that no one on this site gets paid including DLB. we do this for the love of gaming. DLB already spends $250 a year for the bandwidth a year out of his own pocket so please show some respect. DLB does all this for u guys and has to do 2 jobs at the same time so please show some consideration .

    @Machee: Can you make a statement without using the word “cum” or “dick”? Is that possible?

    @Rocc-Monsta: Understand his situation, man. He’s having to spend his own funds to keep the podcasts up. More fans mean more bandwidth is needed and it’s not cheap.

    Well, I’ve already posted about the podcast/bandwidth elsewhere so, I will just address the Window 7 Phones series here.

    Having Windows connect to everything is cool, which is what Sony so desperately wants to do with their products. I like the way Window Live carries over to Xbox, Hotmail, Messenger, and Entourage just to name a few. It’s so seem less and you don’t have to log in every time you access a new program.

    If they can successfully carry this over into the mobile market then I believe many people will buy it because they are already use to using it (i.e., Windows).

    The GUI seems very fluid and almost intuitive in nature which is a great direction. I just wonder how deep the interface goes. Also, aside from my lack of a XBL account, I think this OS is a very positive direction for MS in the mobile market. The phone itself looks like some sort of Motorola phone imo, unless someone knows something to the contrary. I did however see this OS running on HTC HD2 in another video which looks pretty awesome as well!

    In short, slow and steady wins the race MS. Take your time to perfect this OS, we’ll all appreciate it!
