Project Natal Prototype And Look Alikes

If you think this Natal prototype looks a bit familiar (and fugly), you might want to hit the jump for some picture’s of its distant cousins.  Spotted this photo over at joystiq.

**The third picture is for the 80′s babies

I can definitely see it in dear old Wall-E.  You have to look around the optics units.

Here we have Johnny 5, from the classic ‘Short Circuit’ films.  Still looking young after all of these years.  He hasn’t made a movie in some time, but he’s living large off of the Disney royalty checks from Wall-E.

I hope Natal can do what it’s promising without seeming too much like a gimmick. I know the PS3 motion controller will deliver on accuracy, but I’m not too sure about this. I also think that what you all mentioned in the podcast is going to be a bigger problem than you guys think. If it really does end up having problems with dark-skinned people, it will piss a lot of people off.

    Pricing Predictions:
    -
PS3 Arc: $40 separate or $70 bundled with PS Eye (both bundled with a few games)
360 Natal: $90 (bundled with a few games)

Sony’s look alike controller might be too hot for TV lol

Also everyone please note the title says PROTOTYPE before you post about how ‘fake’ it is…it’s just meant for a quick laugh!

  5. @ big shot i know haha ;)
and i dont think these “wii counter attacks” will do much for the ps3 and xbox in terms of sales ..
they’ve left it too late ,
nindendo is good for the wii remotes and fun games , donn copy , be unique and make the ps3 good for something , then people will buy it and it will be known for whatever it is

    Thanks for the laugh:).

On a side note: Short Circuit is a movie that brings a smile to my face the same way Gremlins and Back to the Future does whenever I think of the eighties.

Maybe I’m just a cynical asshole, but I think both MS and Sony motion controls are gimmicks, nothing more.
