Down, down , down, that’s where this months console sales went compared to December, but that’s no surprise at all as December obviously is when Christmas is. Overall, this month looked pretty slow for all consoles really, seeming slightly lower than what they usually are but people were probably a little strapped for cash after Christmas. Anyway, the top selling console this month is… you guessed it… the Wii with 466,000 sold, in second is the DS with 422,000 sold, in third is the 360 with 333,000 sold and finally in fourth was the PS3 with 277,000 sold.

Mag obiviously sucks it’s not even on the list and it released the same day as mass effect 2 and it’s #2 on the list MAG isn’t even #10 it must of had crappy sales it probably won’t even be in top ten for February

@Machee: There’s plenty of exclusives this year that are going to make the charts. I bet MAG will too on next month’s NPD numbers. BTW, I haven’t seen many Xbox games do 256 player online. Have you? The game is a milestone for console gaming. It means we are going to start seeing more and more games with massively online components like MAG. They may not even be FPS’s. Imagine Final Fantasy with every single monster on the game being played by a real person. Or, imagine a GTA where every single hooker who you bang and the beat to a pulp has a real person playing it. Games will eventually start coming out like this where there is no (or very little) AI, just people. I’m talking 1000s and 1000s of people on one big game.

Halo revolutionize how we play FPS on console and it sold millions and i mean millions, it became a FRANCHISE!!!…. so if you’re telling me that MAG revolutionize online multiplayer? then Zipper should start making a fucking selling game! lol! and could some 16 or 18 yr old developer teach Guerilla how to improve their Killzone controls, were like 2010 and their ass is still 1996!
