Europe will soon be getting an online magazine in the PlayStation Store much like QORE but will be called FirstPlay. This magazine will be sold weekly instead of monthly and will include many things QORE does like reviews and previews, exclusive downloads and betas and much more. This will start selling in March for those in the UK and then soon after for other territories in Europe. Each episode can be purchased for 99p while a 3-month subscription will be £8.99. I’m sure you guys are happy about this with the “big success” QORE has been over here in the US.

looks interesting but has 1 big annoyance to me- advertisements on a paid service!. WHY! so when does this release on xbox live…. oh wait

First off, I’m glad that the Uk is finally getting this. I have enjoyed some aspects of Qore and would recommend it if it didn’t have paid advertisements on them. Secondly, the menu screen on FirstPlay reminds me of the dashboard on the Xbox. Although the Xbox dashboard is more interactive than FirstPlay, the navigation pan is very similar. Finally, with the Internet providing so much information out there free of charge, unless paid subscriptions like Qore, FirstPlay, or even Game Informer start giving consumers tangible advice, exclusive demo’s, or content specific betas then I truly feel that it is just a matter of time before these services will become extinct.

i never really liked qore, i can always get my fill of psn goodness with pulse. but this is good for those people in uk who were waiting for one of these type services to get over there.
