Thanks Brown 856!

This may come as no surprise to you guys, but reports are coming from those who were lucky enough to play-test Final Fantasy XIII side-by-side noticed that the graphics on the PS3 version are noticeably better, seeing as there is more space on the Blu-Ray disc, this is no surprise. A game journalist that was part of the play-test said “As expected, the 360 version was noticeably less crisp than its PS3 counterpart, but it still ran.” So expect the game to run as well as the PS3 but the graphics may not be as good. I guess we will see how big the difference in graphics on the games release.

Not trying to annoy you but shouldn’t this be titled as Final Fantasy XIII Graphics Seem superior on PS3 or Final Fantasy XIII Graphics Seem Inferior on 360. Because saying Final Fantasy XIII Graphics Seem Inferior on PS3 just doesn’t sound right.

    LMAO

it really comes down to if there is a BIG difference. if its small, people really shouldn’t make a big deal about it.

  5. Something tells me that most 360 owners who have a PS3 will buy it on the PS3 anyway. Like it or not, Final Fantasy XIII is a game best enjoyed on the PS3.

That’s good news. 360 can’t handle the awesomeness cus it’s weak sauce.

I got a chance to play both versions of this game and they both looked the same. However, you will have more than one disc on the 360.

I doubt the PS3 version is better. The 360 has a STRONGER GPU, so most likely the PS3 version will have the shitty port like always…

No one is getting this game on PS3. Sorry fanboys

It’s obvious this is a fanboy artical. Probably paid by Sony.

    funny Japs..

@Red Rings Of Death Pwns: They started working on the PS3 version first; then, they ported it to the 360. That’s why it’s inferior.

Not too surprising as it was reported earlier by Square-Enix that everthing on the 360 is being compressed, while the PS3 content remains uncompressed. This should translate into better audio and visuals. That’s probably another reason why S-E had to rip out all the PS3′s extra content. Can you imagine the 360 having like 5 discs compared to the PS3′s 1 BD AND all the 360 content looking and sounding inferior? lol They had to make compromises somehow to help have an even experience on both systems.

Generally speaking, any game being ported over to another system is going to look at least a little worse than the original. Of course the PS3 version of FFXIII is going to look better than the 360. Just like how Bayonetta is superior on the 360 versus the PS3 because it was originally made for the 360 and ported over as well.

wow way to stir the pot dude. When will you learn that graphics does not sale any game, the fun factor is always it and just ask Wii owners like me. I myself will buy this on my PS3 because i know it will run better with no disc swapping and Final Fantasy games are always home to the playstation and no one else. Playing it to my 360 will feel weird, like playing Mass Effect on the PS3.

JRPGS are kinda going downhill, Square should have kept the FF12 battle system cuz it way freaking cool! but i know that they are going to implement this on FF14 so ill just wait. Meanwhile, Bioware and Bethesda are doing great with their RPG port to consoles and i think they should keep supporting them and keep the awesome DLC coming, and Gearbox with their Borderland are added to the league and we finally have a change to contend with JRPGS. More competition more games and devs will always have to step it up to stay on the game, I only wish Lionhead start making a descent battle system with their Fable series

They ported from ps3 to 360 dweeb. They started making this game for ps3 before it was even announced to be on 360. Get your facts str8. First party ps3 titles always look better than 360s. Both systems are good but ps3 has far more graphic power and thats a fact.

The PS3 version will be better graphically and on performance.

and lol at RRODPwns, the 360 has a worse GPU, they have the same video RAM i think but the PS3 has DDR3 support and the 360 doesnt ( <— DDR2 etc is motherboard support and ting, DDR3 is better than DDR2). And also the ps3's Graphics Card is newer and therefore automatically better if you get me

@kaijui: Im not bashing the 360 version of final fantasy, im responding to RRODPwns’ false claims that the 360 has better hardware than the PS3.

But it will be better graphically and on performance buit as Machee said, graphics dont sell games.

No doubt the 360 version will be good but it genuinely wont be the same experience as on the ps3. What im trying to say is hard to explain :S

Additionally, I’ve played both versions (360 and PS3) of Fallout 3 and they looked identical to me. Even though it was ported over to the PS3, when doing a side-by-side test, I couldn’t tell the difference between the two versions.

Clearly, the age of video game convergence is upon us.

Anytime a game is supposed to be exclusive for one system and is released to other systems it will suffer from problems. Because the PS3 has a different processor than the 360. Most games that are 360 format and are not built to take advantage of the cell processor, will look better on the 360 than the PS3. But if a game is made for the cell processor format the PS3 version will dominate 360. Overall the 360 is good for what it does and the PS3 is good for what it does.

    @MataaayBGS:

Was Fallout 3 a port to the PS3? Yes.

It was developed specifically for the PC market because the developers didn’t think a gaming console could handle the frame rate and graphics of this game, however, once they saw a working demo version of the game on the 360, they were convinced that consoles had enough processing power to sufficiently render this game.

Because the Xbox 360 architecture is very similar to a PC it wasn’t difficult to write a code for that engine. However, it was challenging to write a code for the PS3 because their cell processor was so radically different. Basically, one had to learn how to write a code for the PS3′s cell processor.

    I hope this helps…
