Kaz Hirai just announced at CES 2010 that Playstation 3 sold 3.8 million consoles worldwide in the last 5 weeks of 2009.
That is 1.7 million in the USA, 500.000 in Japan, and 1.6 million in the rest of the world.
Kaz Hirai also mentioned that the sales of the Playstation 3 are up by a million units from previous end year by 1 million units in the USA.
This is great news for Sony who have struggled in the first 2 years of the Playstation 3 lifecycle, and also shows that the Playstation brand is still in high demand.

Thats a lot of sales, however, nintendo recently announced that the wii sold over 3 million in that same time frame. It will be interesting to see Microsofts and the NPD numbers.

before you make an argument towards one system, make sure you have all your facts straight, oh, and opinions usually wont be taken seriously. I am not a PS3 fanboy, in case you decide to go that route, I think Xbox is equally as good as the PS3, give or take a few features and games here and there on both system, but after everything is summed up, they are both about the same in my eyes. Both have very good games while PS3 has great power and a good hardware package while the 360 has an excellent online service and connectivity, just know that everybody is getting tired of your biased rampage of fanboyism, you’re no doubt free to speak your mind but if you have hardly no argument, please do not tell because what you have been saying cannot be taken seriously by many people. We welcome Xbox 360 fans here but seeing as we cover all the other gaming consoles, you should have a more open mind.
