NPD – Top Selling U.S. Games of 2009
The NPD has released the top selling games on all of 2009, and it probably wouldn’t surprise you that Modern Warfare 2 took the top spot in sales, taking only one and a half months to do so. It probably also wouldn’t surprise you that Nintendo was sure to also dominate this sales chart aswell, having seven of their titles on the top ten list. The top ten selling games for 2009 can be found below.

Some times I wonder what the hell are ps3 owners doing with there systems? I mean Sony exclusives never due impressive numbers for all the hype around them. Last year killzone 2, uncharted 2, and infamous came out and I bought to out of the three but it seems most ps3 owners don’t want to support first party games.
Its a shame that halo odst sold more copies than these exclusives.

When the PS3 has a “true” great exclusive, not a board nominated great exclusive or a media created great exclusive, then the gaming public will support it as such. Until then, no, Uncharted 2 shouldn’t sell more than Halo 3:ODST. ODST is a great game made by a legendary developer, wait to you see what Halo:Reach is going to do.
The Wii doesn’t count because it isn’t going after the same market. Sure they’re all in competition against each other, but how many of you are going to buy a Wii & that be your only console? That’s what I thought, none of you, the Wii is an old people, 6yr old & under, 60yr old & older, old folks home livin, soccer mom machine! We, “the hardcore”, wont buy that Wii **** for ourselves. My 7 yr old daughter & 10yr old son don’t want that Wii ****. The Wii is good for what it is & that’s not for me! Also, this comes from a life long supporter of Nintendo since 1982 & Donkey Kong.
