EA Says Expect Many Games To Release By March 2011
EA CEO, John Riccitiello has announced yesterday that many highly anticipated titles should be released in EA’s fiscal year 2011, which if from April 1, 2010 to March 30, 2011, don’t worry, you probably won’t have to wait a little more than a year for most of the games he brought up, most of the following games will probably release in Fall/Winter of this year, or even earlier (some release dates of these games may fall into the release date pattern of past games in the series).
He mentioned that in between April 1, 2010 to March 30, 2011 you should expect to see games on store shelves like the upcoming Medal of Honor, a “revitalized” Need for Speed (the one supposedly being made by Criterion Games), The Sims on Console, “an innovative and new take” on Madden, Crysis 2 (now coming on PC, PS3, 360), Dead Space 2, the next FIFA, a new MMA game, and “many others”. Get your wallets ready!

EA is going to make so much money off of all these titles

need for speed vs gt5 i think gt5 will bury them

@Joe890:
in gameplay yes but in sales no. Need for speed has the casual market which we can see from the wii sales is all you need to sell your games.

@iStartedtheFlameWar: According to VGcharts no need for speed game has sold above one mil on the wii so they will need more than wii sales to beat GT5. The casual market is probably more interested in buying “mario kart” than need for speed games and that shows in their sales. But the need for speed series as a whole has sold a lot and even though need for speed shift was a good game the series is still on the slow rise moving back to where they once were.

@superballa123:
He didnt mean it would sell well ON the wii. but just like the wii, it is a more casual game, therefore it appeals to a broader range of people than a more serious and realistic racer like GT5 would.

@tjmul: The wii is the causal market but I understand what you mean(you explained it a lot better). But still the need for speed series isn’t selling as high as it used to 5 years go. Besides NFS Shift a lot of NFS games have flown under the radar. Like who’s playing NFS Undercover right now? GT4 sold over 10 mil and it’s series now is still more relevant and respected than NFS. Even though GT5 is more leaned towards hardcore gamers I still think it can beat NFS in numbers even though NFS is multiplaform and geared towards casual gamers.

@superballa123 (nice name btw)
yes i agree the wii sales arnt that good. i still think gt5 will own think of the fact that it has been getting some hype. anyway we will see when we get the sales
1 / 12 / 2010 7:08 pm
@tjmul yes i have taken that into account

@Joe890: Thanks for the complement, you can add me on PSN if you want to(same name for PSN). And I’m more interested to see how their MMA game will stack up against THQ’s UFC game and how will Medal of Honor compete against Modern Warfare 2. Also how good would Crysis 2 play on consoles cause I have the original and I now it’s going to be hard to sway PC gamers like me to buy it on a console cause I want a smooth frame rate with decent graphics (no mediocre port).
1 / 12 / 2010 8:31 pm
@superballa123: I just hope Crysis 2 makes use of the PS3′s hardware and is not just a shitty port of the 360/PC versions. I hope they optimize it well for ALL platforms, making it as good as it can be for ALL. The PC version will be made to run the best it can and no doubt the 360 will as well. However, the PS3 version will only be made to look as good as the 360 can, so it doesn’t look better than the 360 version. That flat out sucks!
1 / 12 / 2010 9:54 pm
@blumatt
Your right it does suck that the ps3 version will be of the same quality as the 360. This used to get me upset because I want the most out of my ps3, but hey at least we have great exclusives.
On another note I’m looking forward to EA’s MMA.
1 / 12 / 2010 10:30 pm
@Sly: Yea, at least the PS3 has its exclusives to work wonders, but can’t you imagine a Crysis 2 made to use the Cell and SPUs’ potential. Hell, it might be nearly as good as the best setting for the PC. I guess we’ll never see though, sadly.

damn, i’ve gotta get these

What hell is he talkin bout when he says “an innovative and new take” on Madden.
Fuck that Madden is pretty damn good.
The only gripe I have about madden is buying it every year for $60.
