The game doesn’t come out in America/Europe until at least Summer 2010, and Polyphony Digital already said they’re going to put out an actual DEMO nearer that time. This isn’t going to put anybody off the game, it’s AGES before we’ll see it, I just wanted people to understand the situation.

@DamonTheMoney: That probably wasn’t a good idea of PD to release a demo that has sub-par graphics and no damage when the full game is supposed to be a lot better. I know you and me know why they did it but I hope they don’t lose any sales because of a crap demo. I just downloaded it and am about to test it out. We in America get a trip to some Nascar race if we win.

I feel I should mention this so people aren’t mislead…

The GT5 Academy Time Trial is NOT a demo of GT5. To put it simply it’s a contest to see who can get the best time, and then a group of people get to participate in the Euro GT Cup series (which the game is partially named after BTW). That’s why all the graphics are set to “barebones”, there’s no damage and the download is only 250MB. However, you’ll see that the physics are fully there and are set to “professional”, which is to make it a fair and proper time-trial contest.

As I said, I don’t want anybody to be mislead into thinking this is the real demo. After all, the game isn’t coming out until Summer 2010 (in the West), so there’s still plenty of time for a REAL demo.

Google “GT Academy” if you want to know more about it, it’s an awesome contest, but alas I’m under-age and don’t have a driver’s licence
