Medal Of Honor Is Back…

Medal of honor is coming back with a new modern warfare look, sound familiar ?, The Game will release Autumn/fall 2010 for playstation 3, xbox 360 and pc. It is based on a Tier 1 Operator, described as “a relatively unknown entity directly under the National Command Authority who takes on missions no one else can handle”, EA say it will be the most realistic and best in class single player with an amazing online component developed by DICE the makers of the battlefield series.

So what do you guys think of this, can it be a call of duty killer ?

Maybe, maybe not but I will tell you this they only get one shot at it. If you are going to talk like they have been talking and not produce you are in for trouble, gamers are not a forgiving bunch.

DICE does know how to do multiplayer although I think the BF2 beta is nowhere near as fun as MAG.

“It will have all the same bells and whistles with a new sheet of paint”

What would make you think that? It’s clearly set in modern times, a big difference from the WWII setting. Also, isn’t Modern Warfare 2 just the same bells and whistles with a new sheet of paint?

Also, you know that Clewis said “can it be a call of duty killer”. EA didn’t say that, read the post before you go on a tangent.

Hey you my friend are a true gamer and I couldn’t agree more with you too. I’m really excited to see this game in action, I love MWF2 but they have let me down so much. They did a really bad job with the single player, don’t get me wrong the game play is good but the story made no sense at all with the way the US got invaded by Russia. I mean any real moron could do a better job and the mulitplayer has some fixing that it needs. So if they can get this game I might never buy another COD game after this. And I do mean never lol.

Another FPS using DICE’s engine :l. Unless EA have lost faith in Battlefield Bad Company, I don’t see the point. Do they really need to put out two FPS’ yearly? That’s a pretty desperate way to try to replicate COD’s success. This game won’t be made by the original designers of MOH (Elfeg Productions), so you MOH fans better hope this doesn’t become another Socom: Confrontation.

Well I like that There’s another war game coming out… lol. More option for me, or maybe i’m just tired of Call of duty being the only War game. I’m waiting for bad company 2. Something fresh that’ll last till another War game is released. So… i’ll obviously give it a play but, it’s just another war game, that will of course be worth a play.
Medal Of Honor is an old name. It was the first breakthrough World War game. But now that’s a thing of the past my friend. the franchise call of duty has taken the top spot and Battlefield has almost run it’s course as well I could be really wrong. The feedback i hear about the Bad Company games haven’t been very friendly, so i assume it’s slowly dying. I Prefer Battlefield Bad Company more then anything when it comes to war games though. Realism is my fetish. Battlefield gets that sense better then the rest

I’m sorry but it’s true why even bother with a single player if it’s story is just going to suck, and as for the multiplayer I like it but like I said it needs some fixing. And if we as gamers just ignore these problems in games then the developers won’t care and they will just put out crap. I don’t care if MWF2 is the most anticipated game of all times there are standards that must be met to the people buying your games and you should do your very best to live up to them. I feel IW just put it out the way it is now because they knew people would buy it no matter what and that is just wrong of them to do that. We are paying 60 dollars for a game and on top of that some people out who have XBL are also paying 50 bucks just to play online and yet these Devs think they can throw crap together and thats just thats. Well it’s wrong.

Ithought MW2 singleplayer was pretty sick. The storyline was abit whack, but the gameplay sure made up for that. I dont know why people are being so critical about the Multiplayer. Its fun!! and its the only game since COD4 that i have really put time into. MW2 multiplayer is leaps and bounds over any other multiplayer that has been out this year and the end of last year. The only thing that might compete is BFC2 which i am sooooooo looking forward to. IW did a great job on matching and in some aspects surpassing COD4, which was such an amazin game.

I can’t wait for this to come out. I really think its goin to be great. They are tryn to make it as real as possible. The guy that’s on the box art is a real Tier 1 Operator, so show some support for him. I’ve been reading all about this game for over a month now so I know that EA is tryn to make it as real as possible. BFBC2 beta have a real feel to it also. I like it better than MW2 or COD. Hell I have more fun on MAG then I would on MW2. I like REALISTIC shooters and BFBC2 really got it goin for them. MW2 is more arcade style. No real team work on the damn game, even tho ppl play “team death match” most of them don’t use team work to win. Just remember ppl don’t knock it before u try it. MW2 IS NOT THE BEST FPS I don’t give a fuck how many games it sold. That does not make it better than others. For me its a network game. All of my friends play it so that’s the only reason I have to play it. Also COD had to learn from someone and that someone is MOH. W/o MOH COD and MW2 would not be what they are today. That’s just MY POV.

@DamonTheMoney: Ur so right about that. DICE is no joke in my book. Hell I went 75-10 on 1 mactch in BFBC2 beta lol. I love that FROST BITE shit. No camping on BFBC2 w/o me coming to take ur dog tags or blowing up the building ur tryn to use for cover. If COD or MW could use something like that FROST BITE then it would truly be a sick game.

Hell yeah man, I’m in love with the BC2 beta right now.

Just a quick thought … I wonder if this could be the (spiritual) sucessor to Black? I heard rumours a year or two ago that Black 2 was supposed to be developed by EA at some point. Maybe they just decided to bring that back in the MoH series. I know this might sound a bit random, but from the picture and description given by EA it’s certainly a possibility. I hope that they use the style of Black, that’s my favourite FPS of all time; it was just so badass.

When developers say “this game is going to be very realistic” or something along those lines, they (almost) never actually mean *realistic*. I don’t know what developers call realistic, but what they produce is exaggerated realism (i.e. NOT like Operation Flashpoint). Crysis, Assassins Creed, MW2 are examples of games that are supposed to be “realistic”, lol.

And Realism can equal fun, Operation Flashpoint is a great game (if you have patience of course lol).

InfinityWard have sacrificed realism in many cases to make the experience more fun in their COD games, according to Robert Bowling. I haven’t played Operation Flashpoint so I can’t knock it, but most of my friends that have, don’t like it very much. Realism can be fun, but a game that is confined to the limitations of the the real world doesn’t sound as fun as the games you mentioned.

Soo then we agree(?); this will probably not be a “realistic” game. As far as fun and realism goes, I enjoyed Operation Flashpoint because I got what I expected, slow-paced strategic warfare, but when I play it I wouldn’t use the term “fun”, I still love playing it though. It probably sounds pretty strange, but it’s like this: I wouldn’t call playing chess fun, but it’s still enjoyable.

Yeah, I agree it that probably won’t be realistic — It definitely shouldn’t be if they’re trying to into the COD audience. I sort of get what you mean about fun, but if a video game isn’t fun I won’t play it much.

Okay, okay, lemme get this straight. I am in no means whatsoever saying COD is the best game ever, but MoH will never ‘kill’ it. Because the fan base for MW2/CoD series, is HUGE. Its so easy to pick up, a very low skill level required game – guns have NO recoil etc etc, and because its so popular, more and more people buy it because their friends say ‘get cod its AMAZING’.

    BUT

A game that is being developed by EA, lets face it, will FAIL (IMO). Take BF2142 – EA & DICE. Meh it was an ok game, but the more you played, the more you realised that the Voss-L-AR is OP, along with walkers, grenades, det-packs, APMs, the list goes on of tedious things to get killed by. But having said that, BC2 is spectacular, but they need to do something with it ASAP that is different and innovative (as some of you have said). The ‘fresh’ experience will not be so fresh when its built on an out dated engine with mediocre graphics, its all the same game – same with CoD. But COD is fun, because of the customization and variety etc it adds, and the whole system is very good, but when it comes to competative gameplay and new things, it sucks ass. For £45 at least anyway. CoD is kind if a game for everyone if you get my meaning.
What im trying to say here is that if MoH: Modern Warfare (or w/e its gonna be called) wants to be successful, it needs to be different. They should have an entirely new engine, developed specifically for the game, (i pray that it WONT be FrostBite again :/), new guns that havent been seen before, or are less popular (like the did with MW2), so it doesnt feel as though youre playing the same games continously, and most of all, they need to add some sort of innovative ‘never been done before’ thing. I dont know what, because I dont get paid to think of these things, ill leave that to EA & DICE (but thats why I dont have high hopes for it, because what new have EA/DICE brought to gaming recently?)

Yo they need to put BLACK in the PSN store or remaster it in HD. I loved that game. Played it all the time with my firends. I was the only person in my crew to beat the game. No other shooter out right now can touch the difficult levels on that single player. I’m goin to digg that out my xbox bag to play it 2nite lol.
