The MAG Beta tests are over and the official game will be releasing on January 26th, 2010 for North America and on January 29th, 2010 for Europe only on the PlayStation 3. The image shown above will be the official box art for North America and apparently the game will be rated “T” for Teen. So what do you guys think about the box art and most importantly, what do you think about the game? several of you have been able to play the beta, did that make you want the game any more or did it lose your interest?

the cover art is explosive.
and yeah i bet the most people would be playing Modernwarfare.
and if call of duty is camp paradise i think this would be worse. since there are so many playing.

cool box art but i agree with everyone else. theres nothing special to this game besides 256 people and an attempt at a cooperative fps. it wont sell well. but i hope im wrong!

Why are so many people dismissing this because of modern warfare and it being it a FPS? Or is this the usal crap from people before the game actually comes out?, cause people were dismissing MW2 and other games.

Well I didn’t have much time to play the beta, but from what I played it seemed pretty fun and I had a good time in it with a couple of people.
The graphics did completely suck ass, but I’ve heard they’ve improved since a few months ago. I might pick this up, I’ll wait until I hear the reviews.

I like the case. The rifle at the bottom sets it off. I enjoyed the game while I was in the beta. I see some people downing the game. It’s not gonna be a failure.

I did enjoy the beta when I was playing it with friends but when I played by myself no one worked as a team the majority of the time (no one used mics) which is the whole point of the game. If people work as a team when the full game is released it’ll be good but if people buy it and don’t work as a team it’ll ruin the game from the start. They should bundle a headset with the game so people have no excuse to not use a mic.

sick boxart. couldve did w/out the fps look at the bottom. and the logos for all 3 factions wouldve been nice. i actually liked the game…kill streak would have been great tho!

I’m going to be a Michael Patcher for a while and say the game will rate as 6.5 or less in GT. This is going to be like Socom that is so broken, i mean why don’t they just release a perfect Socom game with campaign and it’s known multiplayer experience?? why don’t Zipper just take Naught Dog’s Uncharted 2 for example, the game’s multiplayer is awesome.

Wow, I didn’t think it sucked. I thought it was fucking awesome. People who can’t play team based games(BFBC2) should just stick to MW2 (fake ass arcade). I’m sick of ppl talkin about MW2 when another fps come out. It might not sell like the CoD games, but it is great & it should not be shit on because of the beta. If ppl would use the mic’s and work as a team on this game, then it would be a shit load more fun. kmacd92 is right, they should bundle this game with a mic. Maybe more ppl will buy it and have fun.

@boyracing007: Yea they did. They also did it with warhawk. Two other online only games that included a headset. Hopefully they do the same with MAG, if they don’t then i don’t see the game being as good as i know it can be. It would be smart for them to bundle a headset with the game because the main focus of the game is teamwork and you can’t really work as a team without talking to each other.

you would think that with all the people it needed for this beta they would have gotten feedback that this game is not all that great. i would not mind it going multiplatform because i do not think they will make enough money to cover costs. sorry. no one should get upset with my comment because it is my opinion. not fact. thanks.

As far as beta feedback goes, there’s been two ends to the spectrum on the MAG forums. There are those who think the game is fun and good for what it is, and there are those who absolutely hate it. I think Zipper know their audience (people who like the tactical team based gameplay) and are listening to those people. There’s a ton of people who complain about it because it’s not a Call of Duty style game, essentially, and those are the same ones complaining everywhere else, so Zipper aren’t going to listen to them. I think they want to tailor the game to the audience who like what the game is, and then provide constructive criticism. Also, it can’t go multiplatform because it’s published by SOE.

I’m not getting this game, I don’t really like CoD but I would rather play that then this. The beta was horrible for me, it took hours for the patch to download, the interface was confusing, then there’s the game – I could barely move without being shot, nobody had any idea what they were doing, there was no team work. I played it once and never went back.

I think MAG looks pretty good for having 256 players at once. Graphics have to be somewhat compromised for there to be that magnitude of people. You can’t have it all.
@Jourdain: Yea, I do care if it goes multiplatform. Sony needs every exclusive it can get and regardless of how few it is, this game could be a selling point for the PS3 to some people.

I spent a lot of time in the beta and this game is the best FPS on the market by far. It destroys MW2 but because of as evidenced here everyone thinking MW2 is the greatest FPS of all time it will not get the audience it deserves.
There is a slight learning curve and I can understand people giving up after just one try because well, they probably got owned by those of us that actually gave it a fair shake. Without a tutorial to help out the newbies it was a little rough understanding what you needed to do to get started.
The thing is you have to work together in this game to maximize your xp gain its simple really and they make it work brilliantly it is however more of a strategic thinking mans game so I can see why it turns off the kiddies who just want to run around with noob tubes, camp, and exploit terrain.
It’s simply brilliant and I feel sorry for you if you don’t give it a chance you will be missing out on a game that is going to have legs for a long time. I know after the beta that I couldn’t get my pre order in fast enough.
