“Today, The Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) announced the finalization and release of the “Blu-ray 3D™” specification. It leverages the technical advantages of the BD format to deliver “unmatched picture quality” as well as uniformity and compatibility across the full range of Blu-ray 3D products, both hardware and software. The specification is also designed to allow the PS3 to play back Blu-ray 3D content in 3-D. ”
Its good to see how future-proof the PS3 system truely is. With Blu-ray still looking to be the next standard for video discs and 3-D looking to be the next big trend in Video Viewing, i am happy to see that Sony has future proofed the PS3 console to support both. Perhaps these 3-D Blu-ray discs may also be playing a big part in Sony’s apparent 3-D push into gaming in 2010. Whats your opinions?

Now THAT’S fucking awesome.
The quality of 3D is incredible now (sure as hell beats the Red&Blue glasses!). I saw Up the other day and it looked magical in 3D, I can’t wait to see Avatar tomorrow night! In about 2-4 years or so (when 3D has really caught on) I’ll be getting myself one of these new 3D TVs coming out.
@SpecialK916:
lol. But glasses aren’t so bad, you forget you’re wearing them after a couple of minutes
Without glasses would be cool, but you’re talking about a hologram TV

@DamonTheMoney: I’ll go ahead and say it: 2010 is going to be Sony’s year! 3D gaming/movies, Motion controller, and a slew of first party exclusives. Watch the sales soar.

DAMN! I just got my second HDTV last Feb. Now I have to get another 1 in 2011. I really hope the games are on point too.

@blumatt:
People have said that every year since the PS3 launched, unfortunately it never really turned out to be true (well, 2009 is arguable).
However, other years didn’t have 3D and Motion mentioned in them. I’m going to put it bluntly: I think you’re right.
