Tomorrow’s PlayStation Home Update
Posted by BlindMango on 5:54 PM, Nov 25th, 2009PlayStation 3

The biggest thing coming in the PlayStation Home update tomorrow is the the updates to the Red Bull Space. There will be two new Red Bull spaces, one being called Flugtag where you launch one of five flying machines off of a deck and compete with other people in Home to get the furthest distance and a chance of being on the leaderboards. The next space will be an exhibit showcasing the best from Red Bull’s Illume contest. Both countries will be getting this tomorrow.
North America will also be getting some interesting events at the home theater tomorrow which includes trivia questions for Red Bull, if you are one of the first five to send the correct answers to HomeContests@playstation.sony.com then you will win a PSPgo or a PSP 3000 Rock Band bundle, there’s also a music documentary in the theater. Lastly, the Ezio costume (Assassins Creed 2) is available in the home mall.
Europe will be getting more furniture added to the Ligne Roset store in the mall for you to buy. The V-Store in the mall also has some new threads for your avatar. The PSPgo Team Trial will be gone by tomorrow so if you haven’t done it what are you waiting for!

well we all know how this will be talked about if it comes up during the next podcast “home whats that, people still go into to there”? thats your typical DLB comment any time home is brought up.

@hatmantc: That’s the truth. I hate when he says that. Sony is trying with Home and I believe it’s a success simply because Microsoft is already trying to copy it with a similar service [that's coming out sometime].

I don’t see the problem with Home. When I go in I enjoy it, I don’t get bored quickly in there because there’s a ton of stuff to do. I think it’s just become a meme on the internet that Home is inherently something bad to be made fun of, and people then latch onto it and think it’s a fact. However the fact is that Home is very popular (to say otherwise is simply untrue, as is evident by the number of people visiting daily and sales of items), and there’s lots of stuff to do in there. I enjoy sitting down at a virtual card/chess/draughts table (or any game) with some people who I do or don’t know and chat to them, or just chat in the courtyard. And the best part of it all … well I’ll let you figure it out (begins with an F, ends in an E).
And yet I *know* somebody’s going to say “What’s Home?” on the podcast, lol.

@blumatt: or the fact most devs that release content in the home areas make their money back in a very short amount of time or they made a million plus dollars in pure profit off the content in its early acception.

@blumatt: sorry i went on the defensive there. i should have read your comment better. the great thing about home is its an option, they dont force me into there if i dont want to go. when i do go in there, i piddle around a bit and look at whats new and play a few mini games(especially the Buzz area) and then go back to my regular gaming habits

@hatmantc: Yea its okay man. I think Home is great. It’s getting better all the time and once developers start using it to launch games out of it will be the ultimate party system. lol
