Patch for COD: MW 2 to Fix PlayStation Problems

So a lot of us have heard about the issues with COD: MW 2 on that PlayStation console. If you haven’t, the PlayStation version has had trophy issues, and online issues trying to connect to your friends.

Activision and Infinity Ward have released a patch to fix these issues.

Robert Bowling’s Twitter states:

fourzerotwo
#MW2 PS3 Status: Patch successful. Trophy Unlocks on PS3 now available in Single Player & Spec Ops. Adding more servers to meet MP demand.

danm that soo mess-up the game just came out like yesterday.i wonder why is it that the ps3 versions of games always have problems,i think its not fair that the programers cant get it right the first time through programing the game. i don’t get it i mean the ps3 has been around for several years now and the ps3 alot of times wound up with the problem right-out-the-gate when it comes to game being released on the system.is it really that hard to program on the system?…….WHATS THE DEAL!!!!!!!!!

It’s Infinity Ward’s fault. That’s basically all there is to say. I’ve played loads of other games on PS3 and their online worked perfectly day one.

My view on the situation is that Infinity Ward only really cares about the 360 version. They obviously don’t care enough to get the basic features right on release for the PS3. And they removed HUGE features from the PC version rendering it pretty much pointless to buy.

Oh well, I don’t really care. I’m not getting this for a long time anyway :-/

Developers make the games, nobody else. LBP and Socom had problems with online, and so have other games. And that’s because they didn’t know how to properly develop for the online system, that’s their fault. You can’t just pin everything on Sony because it’s convenient. Most games work perfectly really, it’s just when some games (especially big ones like MW2) don’t work properly that things get blown out of proportion. Not to mention that Infinity Ward were too arrogant to have a beta, they said they didn’t need one when they obviously did.

The reason that 360 games always work day one is because the 360 uses the exact same online architecture as the PC does, so every developer will know how to make 360 and PC games perfectly for online. But the PS3s system is completely different (and supposedly more difficult to work with) with the PSN than XBL.

Logically, it can’t be a problem with the PSN itself because loads of games do work perfectly on day one, so games that don’t haven’t been developed properly. For games that worked great day one, Warhawk, Killzone 2, COD: W@W, Uncharted 2 etc etc etc.

both Sony and IW is to blame…its Sony’s fault when it comes to the lame way their online service works, its not organic, rather each game utilizes it differently, including the party invite system. there should be a universal party system and online architecture that all games must adhere too.

i blame IW for not beta testing this game on the ps3, but only did so for the 360. they should also have anticipated the demand for mw2 and thus should have catered to the volume. and whats up with the borrowing servers from cod4? don’t they make enough money to buy brand new servers!!!!!!!
