For those in NY, I hope this goes away. If this is implemented the same way online via consoles as it is TV, it'll be horrible. Imagine this: Playing a "BlazBlue" with an opponent of your skill-level, or in a heated firefight in "Call of Duty", or in the final quarter in a game of "Madden". You're just edging-out victory but it's still anyone's game. All of a sudden your speakers cut-out and the screen flashes these large red letters across the screen, "[THIS IS A TEST OF THE CONSOLE EMERGENCY BROADCAST SYSTEM. HAD THIS BEEN AN ACTUAL EMERGENCY, YOU WOULD'VE BEEN PROVIDED WITH INSTRUCTIONS ON WHAT TO DO. AGAIN, THIS IS ONLY A TEST. THANK YOU. YOU MAY NOW RETURN TO YOUR GAME]". Your game cuts back in after the 30sec. interruption. You discover you were easily combo'ed to death in "BlazBlue" without blocking or throwing up a counter; or somone knifed you in "CoD", you re-spawned, and than they knifed you again for the end-game kill; or the opposing team in "Madden" ran right past you to score a TD and than a 2-point conversion with no resistance. Wow, I haven't heard of anything to disrupt gameplay this bad since... glitching. I mean this could be seriously bad. I admit that it's good to be informed of an impending disaster in order to avert it. I just hope that's all they use this for if it takes off. No warnings, please!
