MW2 is GameStop’s Most Pre-Ordered Game of All Time

Many people will be getting their hands on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in exactly on week on November 10th. So many people in fact that GameStop has even made a statement that this game is the most pre-ordered game in their stores ever! “As of today, the number of pre-order reservations we’ve taken for the game is the highest for any title we’ve ever sold in our 6,200 store network.” stated GameStop’s Vice President Tony Bartel. If you are planning on getting this game and you haven’t pre-ordered it you may want to because it may be tough to find a copy on the first day of release. Have you guys pre-ordered a copy of Modern Warfare 2, if you are even getting it?

I’m not surprised, and yet disappointed. There are much more innovative and wonderful games that deserve much more praise.
Don’t get me wrong, it’ll be a good game. But it’s just a shooter, come on.

I’m not gonna pre order mine from gamestop. I’m gonna get mine from Amazon. they offer $20 dollar credit toward another game and you get it the day it comes out. Beat that gamestop.

Wow I hope another game will come out to smash MW2. I’m down for getting the game, but it will be used. lol I don’t like to buy games brand new. Most of them are rented anyway.

In your world other games deserve much more praise. But to everyone who is buying this game don’t think so. For other games to get this kind praise they have to work for it and deliver like Infinity Ward did.
Fuck that there ain’t no praise, Infinity Ward earned this (Respect) by delivering a great game before hand (COD4).

@Brown856: Well, I second what he said. Although it’s gonna be a great game with great sales, it’s not at all revolutionary–it’s a shooter, albeit an extremely popular one. I’m a big fan myself, but to not acknowledge its formulaic approach is just ignorant. It does what others have done, maybe a little better, but all the same. DONT WORRY DAMONTHEMONEY. I agree with you. Now we’re a TWO-man army. lol

Have I missed something with COD4? Seriously, it’s a great game and all, but it’s just WAY overrated for what it is.
Infinity Ward did a great job with COD4, but IN MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION other developers have put more work in and produced better, more memorable, more versatile games this generation. And yet all the respect is still channelled to IW.
I’m just voicing my opinion, and saying what I believe is right. Don’t try to be condescending with me because you have a different opinion, what’s the point.

I really can’t wait to get my hands on this game next week, even though I’m not going to pick it up at midnight launch. At my gamestop there are over 500 people who reserved it. IW make solid games, so this game deserves all of the sales it’s getting. I haven’t put as many hours into another game this gen as I have COD4. If I play it a lot then it’s money well spent, unlike some other games with short campaigns that you never bother to play again. MW2 should be money well spent. It’s an addictive game, just like GTA: SA was last generation. Sure other games look(ed) better and are (were) more creative, but games like GTA: SA and COD4 are fun and have longevity.

The last MW came out two years ago. You can’t really compare it to a sports series, COD has a campaign that should be very enjoyable. So skipping it for being the same would be like skipping Uncharted 2 for being the same as Uncharted: DF. Different story and features have been added to the gameplay.

@beans: lol You better hope Microsoft doesn’t start really cracking down on pirated games. That is, instead of merely banning your Live account, they could take legal action. I highly doubt this will ever happen, BUT it is something you should think about. I’d say just BUY the game and stay legal. Just my opinion.

There will be no Zombie crap. That mode was fun for about 5 minutes…its just stupid..but you have to remember that it was made by Treyarch. IW has made something called spec ops mode its a separate mode from campaign and competitive multiplayer. Its a 2 person Co-Op mode and there are lots and lots of different missions such as, you are on the ground and you team mate is up in a AC130 providing support. And there is Breach and Clear missions as well as a Snowmobile missions, and among many others as well. And each mission there are 3 stars that can be obtained, so the harder the difficultly the more stars you get there are a total of 69 stars in spec ops that can get earned (so you can figure out how many missions there are. And based on the videos that I saw this mode looks just as fun as the multiplayer. How is this better than zombies..well it took time and effort to figure how they were going to make the mode, you can actually complete the missions, and you earn things for completing them, and lastly there are many types of missions so its not just the same thing over and over.
And about the topic. I pre-ordered the prestige edition about 3 months ago and I’m going to a midnight launch at gamestop.

@beans: First of I do not Respect people who pirate there games.. they hurt Game developers. and they hurt us all cus your taking money thats theres.. 2 . I think Microsoft and everybody who works in gaming should Crack down on Pirates. I hate them as much as drug dealers. oh and you think your getting a deal for that but you lose 2 things that shows why you should never buy a bootleg copy.. 1 They will never play and look as good as the real copy. 2 you can’t play online and that alone should make you stop. and 3 sooner or later people who do that will go to jail for along ass time..

Yea BluMatt and Bryant got a good point. Dev’s and M$ is pointing 1 finger @ the pirates and 3 back @ themselves. It is really funny to know that ppl are dumb enuff to go online with a bootleg game. Its like standing in the airport yelling to everyone that you have a bomb. From the looks of it if M$ can’t fix this issue now then it will get harder to stop them.

Yeah, that’s true actually. But the entire reason the 360 is “winning” is because it released a year earlier than the PS3. If they had released at the same time the 360 would be in a much worse position than the PS3 ever was. Besides, even if they had waited a year and gone with HD-DVD, it would have failed even more, because HD-DVDs are no longer in production :-/

However, it would have been nice to see who would have been on top now had they launched alongside the PS3. …ah to dream. lol
