PlayStation 3

Nintendo Wii

Xbox 360

As you know the bbc iPlayer is currently available for PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii users in the u.k and not for you guys with a xbox 360. But bbc would like the iplayer experience to be available on ever console for free. But a deal between BBC and Microsoft has still been unable to be
reached because Microsoft’s strategy of charging for all content on its Xbox Live  is wrong according to bbc and they have said they are only putting bbc iplayer on the xbox 360 unless
Microsoft lets silver members access this feature also.

The BBC cannot charge the British
mpublic for access to the iPlayer as it is already included in the licence fee, So is this confirmation that Microsoft
are money hungry ? tell us what you think in the comments section.

i bet if BBC was allowed a cut of the money, they would be fine… lol

BBC is the worlds largest broadcasting company, they need every penny they can get with the recession and all…

I hope the BBC. Wins this battle maybe you’ll start to see more free features on XBL, instead of being locked into having to buy or maintane a Gold Membership just to access these features.

MS is sticking to their market strategy so its likely iplayer would not make the jump, sad really for xbox users!

About the podcast: the podcast crew shud tell us when and why there would not be a podcast, since most of dlbnetwork fans are not even from the US thus, dont celebrate thanksgiving! btw how come invicible walls still posted up the show on thursday!
i would think dlbnetwork would have put up the show on wednesday or friday if they truely wanted thursday off.

It’s sad that Microsoft can’t just let this be free. I know free is a forbidden word for them, but come on! I don’t have a 360 and Microsoft’s business model is the reason why I’ll never get one. Their accessories are too expensive, they don’t like supporting third parties (e.g., Datel memory card patched to not work), and they make you pay for everything (wifi, charge packs, Live, etc.). They should make this AND Netflix available to its Silver users. It’s just ridiculous!

Microsoft is all about greed, doesn’t care about the consumer, and I wish they would just pull-out of this industry. M$ only does one thing well, and that’s business; they’re good at making money.

    Look at the gaming biz:
They charge people to play online when it’s free on the PS3 & Wii.
They charge for FaceBook & Twitter access when that’s free on their competition.
They charge for Netflix when that’s free from the competition.
They rushed out a shoddy console and forced people to buy replacements until recently.

I’m glad the public found out about this and I hope people begin to realize they can attain roughly the same entertainment experience on the PS3 (a superior console) while saving cash.

M$ don’t even let certain developers put out free DLC. They’re very greedy.

U only have to look at the prices of xbox products from MS to know they’re greedy. £45 for a wireless network adaptor. £90 for a 120gb hard drive, I got a 320gb for my ps3 for £40.

Microsoft need to sort themselves out and realise charging an extortionate amount for every item and service is not the future. If they don’t realise this soon they are doomed.

I mean, charging for BBC iPlayer?! Seriously WTF Micro$oft.

@DamonTheMoney: Yea, it’s for damn sure not in MY future. I’ll stay with PlayStation forever because I know Microsoft will never back down from their ridiculous pricing schemes.

Yhea, ok PS3 users, you can stop showing off, just because you have more freebees then us isnt going to make be bother selling my Box and buying a PS3, and i get that MS like money… ALOT!!! but who dosent? sure i would be alot easier on my customers that they are right now but they are a buissness and are very successful so we can’t exactly talk and pretend we know better.
