First Footage of the Netflix Disk On ps3

*We have now given away all the god of war demo keys and mag beta codes, but you could still redeem them so check out dlb’s twitter, Please Give thanks to our new contact Damian361tx For supplying us with the goodies*

This is the first footage of the Netflix Disc now out on playstation 3, if you are wondering why netflix is on a disk and not on the dashboard it is because xbox have the rights, not to let netflix be on any other dashboard until mid 2010.

O and this is my first post on my new mac :)

Yea, I’m glad we’re finally getting this. I really hope we get an incentive to use the PS3 version; that is, I hope Sony allows their studios to be streamed ONLY via the PS3 ‘s Netflix.

  7. @donnellz:

The blu-ray doesn’t really do anything other than act as a key for you to access Netflix on the PS3, so no it doesn’t affect the quality. But I’m sure the PS3′s upscaling abilities can sort it out well and good :)

@donnellz: Yea, the blu ray is just a means to an end. I just hope that Netflix isn’t a means to bluray’s end. lol I personally think bluray will enjoy a good 10 years of success before anything else dominates.

Hmm, I wonder where it is today? *raises eyebrow*

Anyway, I agree with what you said. I think that Blu-Ray will survive for a good 10 years, and possibly become as commercially successful as DVD is now. But after Blu-Ray has peaked, digital distribution will slowly tighten the vice. So I’m thinking that Blu-Ray will be the last fully successful physical media form, and then it’ll all be over the internetz.

Just got my disc in the mail yesterday. Haven’t had a change to try it out, but I already have my PC hooked up to my HDTV, so this is not that big of a deal to me.

sure it might not be “instant” but it loads up pretty damn quickly.

i am enjoying the service so far. the only main complaint i have is no search function. but the ability to look through the different genres is nice.
