EA’s Pandemic Studios Closes it’s Doors

PANDAMIC STUDIOS

Today EA has officially announced that they are closing down the physical Pandemic Studios offices and will be firing around 200 people that worked there. Some of the core IP team will still be working for EA but moved elsewhere to another studio. Some of you know Pandemic from it’s games like Destroy All Humans! from back in the day, Star Wars: Battlefront, and Mercenaries.

Don’t worry though, your favorite game series made from the developers will still go strong. Nick Earl, EA games label senior vice president wrote, “I want to make it clear that the Pandemic brand and franchises will live on, in the months ahead, we will announce plans for new games based on Pandemic franchises.” The company started in 1998 and bought by EA in 2007. 4. I hope these guys can find work soon, I feel so bad for them to be sacked, especially at this time of year.
I also find it just downright cruel that EA would do this to them just as they’ve finished the huge title (The Sabotuer) that the guys at Pandemic have been pouring their blood and sweat into for the past 4 years. But sadly, I guess it’s just business.

@DamonTheMoney: Yea it’s pretty sad that a company as wealthy as EA couldn’t have waited a few more months after the holiday season. This is a bad time to look for a job. I know it took me about a month to get another job and I’m not sure it’s gonna last. Here’s to those poor 200 people. **raises glass**

    Damn,

    Why EA?
You take over for over 2 years and then you drop them like a bad habit.
    200 people, are they serious!

I know EA had a better way of doing this!

They also develop games for the PC, such as The Saboteur. This should be tagged as PC too.
