Assassins Creed II Sells 1.6 Million in the First Week

Despite Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 completely owning the sales record charts on it’s release two weeks ago, Ubisoft stated that they are impressed with the sales for their newest game, Assassins Creed II, saying that it sold 1.6 million units in the first week. It’s surprising to see that peoples wallets are not empty after buying Modern Warfare 2. Ubisoft added that it’s a 32% growth in sales over the first week of sales for the original Assassins Creed.
This game got reasonably good ratings, have any on you guys picked Assassins Creed II up, or are planning to pick it up?

It’s good to see a game that isn’t a shooter doing well in it’s first week.

Well, we know DLB won’t be buying this since it doesn’t have online and, apparently, that’s a necessity for him to buy a game. lol I plan on trying it out if I ever get a new PS3 (blu ray drive is dead).

It’s really the Assassins Creed game everyone was hoping for when the first one came out. The missions have variety, combat has been more refined and the environment and visuals look amazing. I beat the game and can say the story at some points is still a little of the wall at times but it is way better than the first assassins creed in my opinion. Even though I have 97% of trophies right now(just got to collect all of those feathers for 100%, lol), I still have A LOT of things left I want to do. It’s easily worth a buy for me, matter of fact it’s the best $17.44 I ever spent. HAHAHA

Aren’t people buying Christmas presents now, or right around Black Friday? So, if that’s the case, the theory that AC2 sales will jump mid-December due to Christmas. doesn’t really hold up.

@KeenanC:
Saying mid december was a little mistake from me. But i do think the sales will pick up more as we get into december. I know for sure that my parents havent started buying thier christmas presents and they have to cater for 6 children. Some people might even WAIT till boxing day to buy AC2 because the prices go dramactically down on that day. I mean we are in a recession and people will do anything to get a cheaper game right?
