PS Magazine: New KZ, CoD, and R3 Games Next Year
The latest issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine detailed that Killzone 3, Resistance 3, and a Call of Duty: World at War sequel is set out to release next year says Destructoid. Due to recent patterns in release dates I think it will be safe to say that both Resistance 3 and a World at War sequel will release around Fall of 2010. It’s tough to think that a Killzone 3 will already be releasing next year seeing that Killzone 2 only released just half a year ago. Guerrilla Games does have the available resources to make another game faster and more efficiently though, not to mention that Killzone 3 was in development when Killzone 2 was. I guess we will have to see what happens as time goes on.

Maybe they could reveal something at the Consumer Electronics Show, but that isn’t too big on gaming to where they have gaming press conferences for the big three.

“Guerrilla Games does have the available resources to make another game faster and more efficiently” This Is So True, and graphics will be better because in the Behind The Bullet app one of the commentors said that later on they got the tech. to do reflection in water, hopefully they’ll have UC2 water graphics, and hopefully not too much color added because that’ll take away the epic-ness from it.

Are you kidding me killzone2 could have sold alot more had it not been marketed so badly and had they actually built hype up for it. If you think killzone was a success (in profit) you are a fanboy…it was Sony’s biggest game and it was met with great silence from the masses. Now they will try to start killzone 3 hype but there is no hype to build upon from killzone 2 and we can be sure to see kz3 fail as well.

Just because games like COD and GTA sell tens of millions of copies, it doesn’t mean that a game which sells 2 million worldwide isn’t a success. I didn’t talk about hype, the quality of the game, how much it COULD have sold, marketing or anything of that nature. I said sales, and it’s sales prove it to be a success by selling over one million (by selling two million), which is a number I think you seriously underestimate. Do your research next time.

I agree with you, but I’m still excited to see what insomniac will do with R3. I hope R3 becomes a darker game with killzone 2 graphics and hopefully the story will be a little more cohesive.

Oh and as for killzone 2 being a success, I’m pretty sure sony had a nice profit margin but compared to the hype we all know killzone isn’t breaking any records. I think most ps3 owners are still waiting for that exclusive mega blockbuster shooter that can compete with microsoft big 2 shooters.

R3 – I haven’t played 1 or 2, so I probably won’t buy it.
KZ3 – KZ2 was a good game, but it was overrated. I don’t think I’ll buy KZ3 straight away.

killzone 2 wasn’t that successful. yeah, it sold over a million, but that is almost standard for high budget games. you would think with all the hype surrounding the game that it would’ve had no problem reaching at least 10% of the ps3 install base, but unfortunately, it came no where close.

Killzone 2 wasn’t the system seller than Sony wanted it to be. It was released this year and isn’t even getting a mention for GOTY. I’m not hating on it, I’m just being real. I enjoyed the single player, but overall it wasn’t as good as I thought it was going to be. You can’t say anything on the this site, other than “this PS3 exclusive is amazing” without some of you guys getting upset…

I agree completely man, it was nothing what I expected it to be. But I don’t really know what I was expecting, it’s only a first-person-shooter (you can tell I’m not a COD fan lol). But I still think that sales wise is is a success, even if it didn’t hit the mark people thought it would.

We will only play as Nathan Hale if it’s a prequel. At the end he became a full on Chimera, when he did that creepy speech “Can you hear them calling us? It is beautiful. This is only the beginning.” …. and then he got shot. So I’m just presuming that we’ll take control of another character.

I doubt Killzone 3 will look as good as Killzone 2 becauce they set that bar so high the only game that has reached is Uncharted 2 and R3 I think will be on the levels of U2 I will be Big diffrnce between R2 and r3 I think

Okay…. well I’m really hyped and happy for Playstation. Killzone 3… definite buy for me they do have more resources and you can expect better grafics. World at War 2????? What the hell is treyarchs problem, they alredy screwed up Call of Duty with their shitty World War 2 remake of COD4, i mean why do you think it was originaly called Modern Warfare 2 and they dropped Call of Duty, lol jk… but ill be too busy with MW2 for that i might get it just for an improved Zombie mode if they have it which they most likely will cus thats how they made all of their sales last time. As for Resistance 3… Im definitly gonna buy it. R1 had the best online ive ever played in my life but a little lag, R2 had near perfect servers and gave the ability to customize your chimera also after knowing all the problems with R2 im sure they’ll be smart enough to combine the best of both as well as add a lot of new features. AND DONT FORGET GUYS!!!!!! This is Insomniac we’re talking about… Insomniac is my favorite company for one reason: they have amazing story mode games. Ratchet and Clank of course, you guys all want to know what happened to the Lombaxes lol. But Insomniac can do one thing that a lot of companies cant, they can make a story flow without a certain character… and also this is the RESISTANCE world we’re talking about they could twist the story around and make Nathan Hale get resurected somehow, just look at R1 when the soldiers died they were taken to be turned into chimeras, in other words resurected as a chimera, so all I can say is… When its Insomniac expect the unexpected.
