More Updates Coming to HOME Tomorrow

Besides the inFAMOUS home space update there are a few more nice updates heading to home tomorrow. First, if you competed in the Hamster vs Human dance-off a week or two ago, you will get awarded with free avaitor helments for the boys and free fedoras for the girls. Sports fans can check out the mall tomorrow for some basketball and hockey gear, there will also be a free g-force shirt and more in the Home mall tomorrow. Game launching will now be available for Far Cry 2 and there will be some bug fixes in Home.

Pretty cool

Who do they know who competed?

Wow Far Cry 2 is just now getting Game Launching -_-. The should start focusing on game launching for all the games not just 1 game every 6 months.

Agreed. 2 per year is not acceptable. BUT maybe they’ll start to pick up the pace soon. In a perfect world, we would have Game Launching in HOME standard for every game and day and date when every game comes out.
However, I do think they’re on the right track as far as incentives go. You compete in an event and at least GET something out of it, even if, in fact, it’s just another silly costume for HOME. There should be some sort of HOME currency that everyone can earn by competing in events in HOME and/or getting trophies for other games. Then, this currency should be able to be used for buying at least SOME stuff on the PS Store. (example: Get platinum trophy for M. Warfare 2, then get the impending map pack later on for free.) Anyone else’s take on it???

@ blumatt
exactly, why do u think gametrailers is so popular and well used, because they have a reward system for members who post on the blogs or watch movies. anyway, speaking of sony, if they reward getting trophies, or some sort of effort for activities within Home, i can see that being a big hit.
a lot of people don’t go into home because their friends are not on there, not because there is nothing to do. there are well over 30 free arcade games and multiplayer games in home. the problem is, the game launching thing, if it worked well [cuz to me its rubbish right now, i much rather boot up my game from the xmb, cuz that's wat home-game launching does anyway- no short cut] then i can see people going in there and hanging out, then jump into kz2 or whatever they feel like.
wats up with farcry2 game launching coming to home, i hated that game online, it sucked. i wonder if the demand was that high to warrant enabling game-launching for it well before kz2 or even fight night 4
infamous space… seriously why these spaces, its not like its gonna add anything interesting to home, its just an empty space just like farcry2 spaces. home should be have a lobby system if its going to work, just like kz2. so that we can select the region we want to join and the room, that way its more efficient. i don’t even care if home comes out on bluray………………

I think they should put clothing development on hiatus and solely work on EVERYTHING that Blumatt & Obiloww said.

They need to beef up the PSN and get us some damn features that can compete with XBL.

@ obiloww
I understand where you are coming from Sony does need a reward system for their trophies. Gametrailers reward system sucked in my opinion because it takes you so LONG just to buy a $30 game, I rather have a job than use gametrailers again.

@superballa123
thats true gt reward system is almost criminal in nature, but still it works, that illusion that u will get something eventually down the line will keep some people coming back to Home. as they use it of course it becomes like second nature, they will automatically go on it, just like i go on gt or pS3news first thing when i turn on my laptop

cool stuff

I don’t go in home anymore, but this is nice to know

@blumatt and obiloww
i agree with the reward system. I think Sony talked about that a few years back about rewarding the gamers. As far as home spaces they are delivering but some aren’t that great. They should work more on game launching and the video sharing inside of home thing.

I think you guys got it all wrong. PS Home is not meant to be some gaming haven. It is meant to be a SOCIAL hub.
It’s the only place on any console where you can go and meet other gamers without being in a game. I’m writing an article on it now for my website, but no other console offers this experience.
Home is not what you want it to be. I get that. But Sony never said it was a gaming hub. Why do you think that have events like Xi and the Human-Hamster Dance Off. They want gamers to connect outside of their games. When you’re playing a game, you’re not trying to get to know somebody. You’re trying to whoop that candy ass.
Should there be more in HOME…maybe. But who are we to judge? We’re getting it free. If you don’t want to use it, don’t. I do and I enjoy it for what it is…I don’t worry about what it could be because I can’t control that.
