Hardware sales in units for each platform during May 2009 were as follows:

Wii: 289,500
Xbox 360: 175,000
PlayStation 3: 131,000
PlayStation 2: 117,000
PSP: 100,400

i think that 360 number shouldn’t be in the NPD chart. its only the returning customers buying another 360 b/c there old one broke.

The cheapest PS3 is $200 dollars more than the cheapest 360 and it only fell behind the 360 around 40,000. That’s pretty good, just imagine how much they would sell if the PS3 was $300, especially with the killer lineup of exclusives coming.

@esko and @Bucnasty Okay. Number one, get out of here. No one is forcing you to read this site and DLB-Network isn’t something evil you have to warn us about or save us from. Seriously.
Number two, this is a centralized gaming community that posts gaming news and discusses it. This is not a news maker. On the news on TV and newspaper go into scenes aqnd “copy and paste” information from events and people that were part of them to broadcast them to you. This site takes press releases or updates from developers or other sources, and reveals them to the community to discuss.
Number three, NPD numbers can be disappointing depending on your system of choice, but whether it is interesting is purely subjective. Leave now. I have spoken!
(and so has DLB).

Hi Haters. Sounds like you “copied and pasted” everything that fat guy from Bit Fag said. The only thing original about other gaming sites is previews and reviews, everything else news wise is practically universal. So would IGN be wrong if they posted something that Kotaku had first, no because gaming news is universal just like the news you watch on tv. Both of you, if you are so scared by NPD numbers then don’t comment because nobody wants to hear you complaining. Once you guys start up your own website we will see how much “original” stuff you post. I’m being for real it costs about $100-$200 just for maintenance a month, $1000 just for marketing(getting ads on your site isn’t easy). A web site designer may go for about $250 or more, server space about $20-$30, and a domain name for around $70 for two years. After you guys pay all that along with regular house bills, and taxes, I’m sure you guys will have plenty of time during your day to come up with “original content”.

Tordavis I wasn’t trying to make jokes, I workout a lot and your size isn’t healthy so when you end up the hospital one day you are going to wish you listened to all those people who told you to lose weight. Dude my family are workout junkies they do this 6 times a week (expect not on Sundays).
