    PlayStation 3 sales not bad for a $400 system compared to Xbox360 and the Wii’s prices.

    What are you guys talking about, SONY is getting killed. Killzone 2 cost 50 or 60 million: released the last 2 days in February & cant sell 92k in April? Also, the PS3 sells under 130k, that’s terrible.

    Killzone 2 is no where near the big boy shooters with those #’s.

    Sony is not getting killed they are making a really good amount of money off there system simply because it costs more and they dont have to sell as money to make the same money microsoft does off the 360. Also since when do numbers represent game quality? “Killzone 2 is no where near the big boy shooters with those #’s.” last time I checked Killzone 2 was one of the best FPS experiences to date, grow up and learn that sales numbers aren’t everything.

    Its like Killzone 2 didn’t even make a dent in the sales charts; this month or last month.

    @Stick89

    “Sony is not getting killed they are making a really good amount of money off there system simply because it costs more”

    This is NOT true, nearly every console ever made loses money on each unit. Nintendo supposedly makes around $6 per wii. While MS and Sony lose a few hundred per console sold.

    You’re also being subjective when you say “KZ2 is the best FPS experience to date.” That’s just you’re opinion, not a fact.

    @cheese, i dont agree sony don’t make money off each ps3 sold. none of us have gone and taken stock of the cost of production verse the price sold. its just what they will have you believe so that they can justify the premium price. maybe they make a lesser margin than nintendo, but sony is a katritsu, there is no way they are making loses. but RBdrift is right, sony isn’t doing too bad considering that the hardware is very expensive.

    I’m telling you, if Sony would stop making the PS2, the PS3 would sell better.

    Also, look at those software sales; The Godfather II is the only PS3 game in the Top Ten, something is wrong in the world. We have seriously lower our standards.

    @Stick89,

    I’m 40, my first game was the Pong console in 1976 with sliding levers not the dial. I’m also a double business major (Marketing & Business Administration with an Ecomn Minor), so cool your grow-up insults.

    I know sales don’t always = quality, however, what SONY exclusive is going to be the first Blockbuster? Sometimes there is a small amount of truth to sales & quality or sales & a satisfying experience.

    Killzone 2 is a good game, its just not the game people are hyping it up to be. By satisfying: why the hell did people let GG & SONY off the hook when they chose to omit a co-op feature? When you make a blockbuster game, make it feature rich & there will be no excuses.

    I hope COD:MW2 gets pounded by the media for not having a co-op mission feature, but the media is all on Infinity Wards sacks, so it wont happen.

    If you ask me I’d say MGS4 was Sonys first blockbuster, but hey thats just me. Its hard to judge a game and how well its doing on the PS3 because from what I’ve noticed the people that buy PS3 are very different from those that buy the 360. Of course a shooter is gonna do big numbers on a 360, the majority of people that own a 360 love shooter. However with PS3 its owners a bit more diverse on the genres they prefer so something like Killzone wont do so good sales wise because its not like everyone on PS3 loves shooters. Just my opinion from what I’ve noticed.

    Sony needs to market more, I would say at least 35% of PS3 sold there are being used as Blu-Ray player. If you go into any electronic store there will tell you the best blu-ray player out there is a PS3. There is only so many of us to actually play game on them. I say it again SONY NEEDS TO MARKET, more commericals to gamers. FFXIII will change all this.

    Actually, this “losing money on consoles” isn’t new, its been around for awhile. It’s how Microsoft, a company with no console experience, managed to break into the market. It’s a strategy intended to earn the company a profit on something other than video game. And yes, analysts do know that MS and Sony LOSE money on each console sold.

    My overall point was that fanboys here, love to spew out this verbal diarrhea of excuses for sony.

No amount of fanboy delusions and regurgitation can mask the obvious this generation. SONY HAS LOST SIGNIFICANT MARKET SHARE.

    People need to remember that Sony has 3 diffrent consoles on the market. Together those 3 consoles have shifted 405,000 units this month.

    Sony’s consoles just keep on selling. The PS2 is still shifting. Is the original xbox? Is the gamecube? Nope.

    The PS2 outselling the PS3 is bad news, in my opinion. The PS2 has clearly won the last generation, but Sony are going to come last in this generation at that rate. Price cut is needed!
