Created by R&B great Raphael Saadiq‘s video game studio Illfonic based out of Denver, Ghetto Golf features Vonte playing Golf through the Ghetto facing various obstacles such as Gangsters and dumpsters and even employing the use of his machine gun if necessary.
One of the playable scenes they showed involved the hero Vonte needing to use his exploding golf ball to blow up a car that someone was ghost-riding. The player could sheath Vonte’s machine gun, flick past his spiked golf ball and his rubber golf ball to try his explosive golf ball and aim it with a swing at the car.
At the moment it’s a mod on the Unreal Tournament 3 engine, but managed to capture the attention of Epic’s VP Mark Rein enough to get a shout out at GDC during a showing off the Unreal engine’s flexibility. Illfonic is currently looking for a publisher to bring this to XBLA and the Playstation Store.
