A balls-out video showing the action in the game would have been much preferred. Nevertheless the ad is growing on me.

    Nice, no need to overkill

    but ppl will still moan

There is not way in hell they can make an ad that would make someone jump out of their sit and run to the nearest games store to buy a ps3 & KZ2, unless its a 30min ad.

In this generation of youtube, all u need to do is make ppl curious about the product and they would findout themselves. u dnt have to force all the details down their throat, “this is in-game, look at the textures, look at the death animation blah blah”

I think this is still a great commercial, it slows time down to show the detail in everything from the water on the graoud to the characters

very nice. however people will just see this as nicely rendered footage, which (almost) all games advertise but don’t give.

we all know that the game will actually be that awesome, but the ad didn’t really set it apart from the crowd.

    Details from the PSblog

“The team at Guerrilla embraced the concept and we were on a production rollercoaster ride that produced a piece that will be broadcasted across several networks starting tomorrow

    AND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To offer you some insight into the technology behind this game, we will release a playable version of this in-engine ad vignette on the PlayStation Network coming in March. You’ll be able to control the camera and hear director commentary on how the production was completed using only the game’s technology. The project codename is “Killzone in 4-D” – hope you can check it out.”

    SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though there is no actual gameplay this ad has something that the whole industry is lacking its originality.

im say it, its just plain terrible. I mean it shows nothing about the game except wat the enemies look like and stuff. I mean it looks okay but its terrible considering this is supposed to be for KZ2, THE PS3 KILLER APP. i mean, i agree with DLB, just some gameplay shots of the game wud have been better.

If your going to complain go tell Sony by spamming their forums or something because posting here isn’t going to change anything.

The commercial serves its purpose. It will definitely entice the average consumer to research the game. Hopefully another commercial comes out which shows game play. We all know the game looks that good, now it’s up to them to convince the masses.

I like the ad. It grabbed my attention in the begining, kept me wondering about the destination of the bullet in the middle, and had me going “Niceeee” when it was all sumed up by “Killzone2. War. Perfected.”

Actually, that’s a dope phrase “War. Perfected.” but the commercial wasn’t an attention grabber. Didn’t leave me intrigued, wanting to find out more about the game.

I the idea behind the commercial, it does a good job of showing off the detail of the game, but I would have made it longer and started it off with an loud action scene to grab the viewers attention first and then end it with this slow-motion piece.

In general, the gaming population has known about Killzone 2 for years now; those that want it will purchase it, and to those that don’t want it won’t. It’s the mainstream that this commercial is targeted toward. To me this type of commercial should’ve released months ago followed by another close to its launch. It much more reminds me of a teaser trailer than anything else. That being said, this will not hinder me from purchasing this game as I know that Sony as of late sucks at advertising their products.

I co-sign A Bit Shot. The ad doesn’t do the game justice, but it probably will make a lot of gamers that aren’t too familiar with KZ2 go online to see what it’s all about. It’s not a bad ad, but it’s not as good as it should be. I’m waiting for the epic gameplay ad that makes even those anticipating it most watch in awe. I hope they do one that like because there’s been enough of these slow-motion cinematic ads now.

“WAR PERFECTED” in the aspect of what the story of the ad is trying to say. he barely even aimed and shot. hit the guy a mile away. i call that a lucky shot. graphics wise yes.

shit ad in my eye of view.

This is by no way a good or great ad.
    To me its terrible,
If everyone can remember when Gears of war came out the commerical captured everyone who watch the comercial.
If you dont know what i am talking about go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-ra7Doczv4

Killzone 2 should have had a better commercial then Gears of war period.
