Spike 2008 VGA Results
GTAIV picks up Game of the Year, the rest of the Winners and nominees after the jump via MTV Multiplayer.

The Spike Video Game Awards ceremony was held last night and “Grand Theft Auto IV” emerged as the big winner.
I was one of the judges, so you can credit or blame me for the list of winners below. I haven’t compared it to my ballot yet, but I can tell you that I voted for a different game for VGA GOTY. Still, not a bad list of winners!

Does anyone else find it contradicting how ‘game of the year’ didn’t win ‘best 360 game’, or ‘best PS3 game’? It’s a little misleading.

I don’t find it that carzy, it was a smart move. By picking a multi console game they are not picking either console as the best and are stopping fan boys from boasting.

Exactly, plus in general it is a popularity contest ( in a way) and with it being multi-console, it ups the odds

Not choosing a game that deserves game of the year just because it’s only for one console is WRONG. If what you’re saying it right, then they should just get it over with and call it the best multi-console game of the year.
