PS3 may have lost an exclusive, but it gained another. Quantum Theory is a PS3-exclusive third-person shooter that’s supposedly Japan’s answer to Gears of War. It comes from Tecmo’s Makoto Shibata and will undoubtedly feature all the things needed for a good American-style shooter: greys and browns, explosions, a cover system and ridiculously large arms.

ok, it looks promising, but come on, japanese games are generaly vary detailed and intricate in their art styles, so even though alot of people say it will be like gears, i beg to differ, i think its going to be a way better eperience, especially because its a PS3 exclusive. you know those japanese games are comin out hell-a-serious with graphical, and gameplay advancements. Japanese games = quality. props for this game!

This is just a CGI trailer, not even real gameplay. Kudos for putting that aimer on screen when he slipped into cover at the start though, very clever.
80% Gears of War, 19% Final Fantasy and 1% of Lord of the Rings. Thats the eye of sauron at 00:45 if I’m not mistaken?
And making that guy and girl threaten each other at the end to pretend there will be a proper story? Exelent!
And don’t put me down as an Xbox three-fix-me ranter, I’m more like a PS3 fanboy.
And this game looks awesone even after all that! =D

we haven’t even seen the gameplay of the game and your saying that its bitting off gears of war. all i seen in this trailer that reminded me of gears of war was the cover system and the guys had big ass arms thats it. so i guess if other games had a 3rd person cover system they would be bitting off gears!!!. and what originality are you talking about kill switch (you remember that game) was the first game i think that started the 3rd person cover system. or you talking about the originality of guys having big arms in a game lol. Anyways wait till they actually show gameplay before you judge any game.

i’m clearly NOT judging…trying to figure out how much of something can be shown before people can make a comment. Killswitch had a cover system, yes. From what we’ve seen from this trailer it borrows more than just cover from Gears tho’.
Personally, i’m not caught up in imitation because there isn’t a single thing on either console that isn’t copied from something lol
I’m just saying…if this was a trailer that had even remotely resembled MGS4 or something for 360 ppl would’ve lost their minds…funny to me that’s all.
