since i been in the beta stage…i can undoubtly say that MY game of the year and to this point all time favorite is LittleBigPlanet. man it s just insane all what you can do on their. really brings the creative side out of people and it doesnt just for you to create levels but it lets people use their imagination and bring it to life. we loved super mario bros, we all over metroid. we love pacman, pinabll, sonic, etc etc. but we just played those games…now we can create our own classic levels and share it with people. man i can go on and on about this game. then the rewards are endless…simple fact you can create your own rewards. heck create your own trophy system in the game. if someone beats your level you could create a unique trophy that only people that complete your level get and lock to where they cant share. that way you can go around and play levels and if you see that trophy in their level…you know that person played and completed your level and they took value to you item. this game is just a mazing and words cant describe it. id trade all my game in for LBP. just me, my girlfriend, my ps3 and LBP.

I respectfully disagree with you…
I just finished MGS4 and my perspective is from someone who is not familiar with the MGS Universe…now, I feel like my perspective is valid because a great game should be able to be enjoyed by anyone who picks up the game and to me the cutscenes were a huge disconnect, especially in Act 3 where the gameplay was overshadowed. Another thing is that MGO was by and large a broken game and I won’t name names but was told not to even bother with it. MGS4 was hands down one of the best games I’ve ever played, but for it to get GOTY it would have to be measured by it’s parts and not the whole.
I haven’t got my hands on a beta key, but LBP looks like it will get the nod for the same reason that u stated earlier, the fact that it is a welcome departure from the shooter driven next gen game lineups. I definitely give credit where it’s due…and LBP looks like it should have a lot to offer. With that said, and with respect to all of the other games in the list with a special honorable mention to GTAIV (even though it’s multiplayer component wasn’t up to snuff) I think that the production value that Epic is putting into Gears of War 2 may earn it the nod for the second consecutive year. This time around the story has been a focal point and the multiplayer is getting improvements on an already solid matchmaking experience.
Yes. I said Gears of War 2 is my prediction for GOTY…
Fallout 3 is a contender, but RPG’s tend to get left behind because of length of time it takes to complete them competing with numerous titles available this fall.
Resistance 2 is interesting but Insomniac is still new to the shooter arena and part 1 left much to be desired.
Fable 2 could suffer from what Fallout 3 potentially will also. On top of that, Co-op has been left out of the initial release to be patched in later…
SO…these are my picks, love em or hate em they’re thought out and have solid arguments…I’m predicting LBP vs. Gears 2

ill say MGS4 or LBP. GTAIV boring. Gears 2 looks like a hot game but more of routine its just a couple things they added. MGS series had a different element each game and the art, direction, and hard work is enough to knock Gears cowboy like mocho man style (still a great game ). Fallout 3 just doesn’t have what it takes to stand up to MGS4,LBP,GeOW2. Fable Laaaaaaaammmmmmme imo. LBP creativity and uniqueness is why its one of my choices.

In my opinion, you can’t vote on games that haven’t released yet. From a “All-Console” perspective, I would vote for GTA IV(PS3/360) or Battlefield: Bad Company(360). I’ve never liked the Metal Gear series PERIOD EVER. So you have to exclude me from that game. – Mayd4Life

Battlefield: Bad Company on PS3 was a huge letdown. The servers were horrible. I played Battlefield: Bad Company on 360 teaming up with Dane Cook every night murderin folks. Jeah…

GTA4 will be. Biggest sales in gaming history. Huge game. Huge budget. Multi-console. and cultural phenomenon.
MGS4 doesn’t have the broad appeal of a typical GOTY, and sadly, I just don’t think a single-console title will get GOTY this time around. LBP will be a cult hit, but not epic enough to be GOTY. Gears 2 will be too similar to Gears 1. Same with Resistance 2 / Resistance 1. Fable 2 and Fallout 3 will be here too late for serious consideration, and though I expect both will be good games, neither will have the universal appeal a true GOTY has.
